Fidelity’s Fixed Income Division manages close to $2 trillion and continues to see strong inflows into our funds. To support this growth and drive scale, we are seeking a Director of Software Engineering to be part of a growing team that supports our separately managed accounts offering (Personal Bond Management – PBM) within the Fixed Income domain.
Asset Management Technology (AMT) is seeking a highly motivated individual to lead Fixed Income PBM technology teams in the US. This individual will partner closely with various business and global technology teams, in addition to the broader AMT organization to deliver best-in-class products supporting our investment professionals.
The Expertise We are Looking For
Be Collaborative: Work in partnership with our business users, AM Architecture, Data Services Compliance and Operations (DSCO) and other AM/Fidelity enterprise teams, to design and build end-to-end solutions for Fixed Income Bond Trading
Be Strategic: Provide strategic direction to successfully deliver against our consolidated, multi-year product and technology roadmap
Influence Others: Partner with peer Chapter Leaders across AMT, Architecture, Common Platform Solutions (CPS), etc. to drive incremental change and improvement into how we work to improve our ability to deliver value and reduce friction in our processes
Lead the team: As Engineering Lead for multiple Squads, help manage priorities and provide direction, technical expertise, and engineering excellence. Act as a single point of accountability for engineering practices and ensure appropriate governance is in place
Inspire Others: Demonstrate a passion for software engineering and tap into the expertise of the engineering team. Create and foster an environment of creativity and innovation that supports the delivery of business value through scale and efficiency, business growth and/or investment performance
The Skills You Bring
10+ years of hands-on software development experience, including Java Web services and API solutions.
Deep knowledge of middleware Java stack, messaging technologies, containerization, web containers and test automation.
Leadership & Strong execution skills in a fast-paced environment using agile methodologies.
Awareness of event-based systems, emerging technologies, and messaging frameworks such as Kafka and EMS.
Expertise in open-source streaming products, Micro services and Message Oriented Middleware, Stream processing.
Proficient in Java, J2EE, Oracle, PL/SQL, Spring MVC, Spring Core and JavaScript.
Deep understanding of API design, including versioning, isolation and micro-services.
Experience building enterprise cloud enabled distributed systems.
Strong contributor with a collaborative work style in building, crafting, and reviewing code
