The Enterprise Data and AI organization unites the data governance, strategy, engineering, and product teams with those responsible for AI engineering, generative AI enablement, and automation product and engineering. This group plays a pivotal role in leveraging data as a core driver of innovation and integrating AI capabilities to transform products, operations, and customer experiences. The EDAI organization also incorporates technology Research & Development and experimentation with emerging capabilities, along with engineering support for Amex Digital Labs. This integration ensures that research breakthroughs seamlessly translate into business impact.

As a Director of Partnerships, you will join our team that has embarked on launching GenAI products at Amex. In this role, you will be responsible for cultivating and managing external relationships supporting GenAI at Amex. You will also lead a team responsible for keeping the GenAI Enablement program up to date on the latest partner developments, upcoming products, and executing on opportunities to drive our GenAI strategy at Amex. Our leaders work with distributed teams in a highly dynamic environment collaborating with product and technology leaders, and engineers who are passionate about our journey to build and deliver technology-powered solutions that our customers love and that works for our business.

On any given day, you might:

-Serve as the primary commercial contact for high impact and dynamic partners who offer foundational GenAI services to American Express

-Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders on exciting opportunities to drive business results

-Assess various emerging players in the GenAI space and cultivate new relationships

-Negotiate complex business decisions to create win-win outcomes for Amex and our partners

-Understand and socialize key roadmaps of major cloud providers, AI firms, and ventures companies to help inform Amex business strategy

-Drive awareness, adoption and enablement of new partner driven features and products

-Advocate for GenAI Strategy outcomes when collaborating with internal stakeholders including Strategic Partnerships, Cloud, Ventures and more.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 7+ years of business development, partner management, or other related experience.
  • Strong collaboration skills and ability to build relationships, impeccable interpersonal skills, proven ability to influence across multiple global teams
  • Proven project management skills to coordinate timelines, stakeholders, and logistics
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage complex deliverables, anticipate issues, and ensure flawless execution under tight deadlines
  • Thought leader who demonstrates a growth mindset and keen sense of curiosity
  • Attention to detail and proven ability to drive results and ensure flawless execution with clear commercial outcomes
  • Knowledge of Generative AI and related technologies
  • Passion for cutting edge technologies and excitement to tackle hard problems before there are clear solutions

Salary Range: $123,000.00 to $215,250.00 annually + bonus + equity (if applicable) + benefits
