Director, Lifetime Financial Help Strategy, Fidelity Investments

Job Description

You blend critical thinking with a drive for delivering strong and actionable results, while being passionate about bringing value to our plan sponsors, participants, and Fidelity. As a member of the Lifetime Financial help Look Ahead Team, you will collaborate with your team and business partners across the product area and Workplace to identify and prioritize strategic opportunities to innovate to better meet customer needs. You will synthesize key trends, the market landscape, internal capabilities, and partner input to articulate opportunities while influencing strategic decisions and roadmaps. You will be committed to maintaining and developing your own expertise and knowledge to ensure you bring the latest thinking to your role, and support your teammates do the same.

The Team

As part of the Lifetime Financial Help Product Area, the Look Ahead Team is responsible for guiding the longer-term product area strategy as well as leading planning and governance processes. We place a strong emphasis on outside-in thinking by interpreting market signals and understanding client and customer needs, while also ideating and incubating new opportunities. We also play point with Workplace Strategy and Planning to lead the LFH portfolio multi-year planning processes and executive insights.

The Value You Deliver

  • Conduct market, customer, and competitive research to bring an outside-in perspective to help identify value to customer and inform opportunities

  • Use outside-in insights to develop hypotheses and inform learning agendas

  • Collaborate within and across product areas and teams to develop growth opportunities that meet client and customer needs

  • Work with Product Area and Group Squad leadership to facilitate development and prioritization of opportunities by building compelling and data-driven business cases, product roadmaps, leading to appropriate resourcing and outcomes

  • Build credibility and trust with a diverse set of leaders in and out of the product area to influence and align around shared goals and visions

  • Incubate early stage concepts to test and refine market potential

  • Develop executive level communications to provide insight into strategic efforts

The Expertise You Have

  • Bachelor’s or equivalent with 10 years of experience, Master’s preferred

  • Experience in management consulting and/or product strategy is strongly preferred

  • Financial services experience preferred, but not required

  • Critical thinking and ability to analyze and synthesize a variety of inputs to drive to a recommendation

  • Data-driven approach to frame market opportunities and inform key strategic questions

  • Strong cross-functional leadership and skills to navigate a demanding environment and influence partners with a wide range of priorities and perspectives

  • Comfortable with a fast-paced environment and responding to urgent requests that may arise

  • Excellent consultative, listening, communication, and analytical skills

  • Strong team collaboration with the ability to navigate differences in opinion with grace and incorporate constructive feedback as data for the next iteration

The base salary range for this position is $110,000-$222,000 per year.

Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate’s relevant experience, and other factors.

Base salary is only part of the total compensation package. Depending on the position and eligibility requirements, the offer package may also include bonus or other variable compensation.
