The Role

Fidelity Charitable is looking for a Director of Marketing Technology Engineering to lead the team responsible for building and operating the platforms that enable our connections with donors, financial advisors, and nonprofit organizations. This is an opportunity to share the capabilities of Marketing Technology to advance the mission of an organization that supports nonprofits with billions of dollars in donor-recommended grants annually.

You will lead software engineers and marketing platform specialists while staying hands-on across platform development, integrations, and implementations within our marketing technology ecosystem. This includes Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Segment CDP, and Adobe Experience Manager, with a focus on audience segmentation, personalized digital experiences, and reliable communications at scale.

You will develop and maintain API integrations, event-driven data flows, and platform configurations. These will connect digital experience, customer data, and marketing systems within a Git-based CI/CD workflow. You will also serve as a key technical partner to the marketing, digital, data, and enterprise technology teams, and help define the marketing technology roadmap going forward.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

  • 10+ years in software engineering, marketing technology, or digital platforms

  • 5+ years leading technical teams or enterprise platform initiatives

  • Engineering leadership: Proven ability to lead technical teams while staying actively involved in development, architecture, and code review

  • Executive communication: Able to understand the underlying business problem, translate technical plans into business context, and prepare and deliver presentations to senior leadership that connect roadmap investments to organizational outcomes

  • Full-stack mentality: Strong software development background with the ability to learn and build within new platforms quickly; experience with SFMC, Segment CDP, or AEM is a plus

  • Marketing platform expertise: Experience with marketing technology platforms, including automation workflows, data management, and campaign orchestration

  • Customer data and integration: Experience with CDPs, identity resolution, event tracking, audience segmentation, and cross-system activation

  • Digital experience platforms: Familiarity with enterprise CMS platforms, preferably AEM as a Cloud Service

  • DevOps fluency: Strong grasp of Git, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment workflows for cloud-based platforms

  • Roadmap and prioritization: Ability to build and maintain a marketing technology roadmap, manage a development backlog, and make clear trade-off decisions when balancing contending priorities across business partners.

The Team

We are the Marketing Technology & Operations team at Fidelity Charitable, sitting at the center of how one of the nation's most impactful philanthropic organizations connects with its audiences. Our work has helped facilitate more than $118 billion in grants since our founding. We partner across marketing, product, data, compliance, and enterprise technology, and we are committed to technical excellence, collaboration, and continuous learning. The platforms we build help amplify generosity every day.
