The agency is seeking a highly qualified candidate for the position of Director, of Nutrition within the Fulton County Board of Health in the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) Division.
Job Responsibilities
Oversees, plans and directs the overall operation of a nutrition program. Establishes and implements policies and procedures. Monitors and evaluates the program for compliance with established guidelines. Provides leadership to subordinate managers and staff.
- Assesses nutrition and diet-related health problems and available resources to determine present and forecast future needs
- Determines the needs of the nutrition department or public health program for personnel, supplies, and equipment
- Manages human resource and employee relations functions
- Participates in developing agency health policy and assuring that food and nutrition-related issues are included
- Participates in strategic planning, identifying programs and services that should have a nutrition component and integrates plans into the overall agency health plan and budget
- Plans, directs, and implements a nutrition program and nutrition education programs
- Reviews proposed legislation, guidelines, and standards by federal, state, and local organizations affecting nutrition services
- Manages the development, implementation, and monitoring of standards for nutritional services.
- Manages the development, implementation, or evaluation of training related to nutrition policies, procedures, standards, and compliance to improve program effectiveness and efficiencies.
- Manages the preparation of grant proposals and contracts to obtain funds for the expansion of nutritional services.
- Manages budgeting of multiple sources of nutrition funding (i.e., WIC, Medicaid, third-party reimbursements, grant and contract funds) in compliance with federal, state, and local standards.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in dietetics, human nutrition, food & nutrition, nutrition education, food systems management or a closely related field from an accredited college or university Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics accredited program and six (6) years of nutrition experience, which includes two (2) years in a managerial or supervisory role and registration as a Dietitian by the Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics Commission and licensure as a Dietitian in the State of Georgia; or two (2) years of experience at the lower level Sr Mgr, Nutrition (HCM041) or position equivalent.

Fulton County Board of Health accepts educational credentials recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and/or the US Department of Education (DOE) will be considered. Salary range
- $69,134 - $91,309
