American Express Global Commercial Services (GCS) is dedicated to the success of businesses big and small with the vision to be essential to our customers’ businesses every day. As part of the Small Business Products organization, the Small Business Strategy & Cross-Product Features team is responsible for defining high impact strategies, features and experiences that drive utility and growth for our Small Business customers.

The Director, Cross-Portfolio Features, owns features shared across Business Cards, including the Employee Card (supps) portfolio, a critical growth lever for Small Business Card. This person will be responsible for setting long term strategy, driving growth and the day-to-day product management of these features, as well as the ongoing operational management of the overall Business Card portfolio.

The Director, Cross-Portfolio Features will lead a high-performing team to:

  • Shape the future of the Employee Card business. Set a longer-term vision, strategy, value levers and capabilities roadmaps that meet customer needs in a differentiated way and drive profitable scaled growth for the portfolio
  • Own the Employee Card P&L, value propositions and customer experience as well as product branding, positioning, and messaging strategy
  • Product manage any additional emerging feature requirements that have cross-portfolio implications
  • Partner closely with Marketing, Sales, and Brand channels to evaluate and influence strategies to drive quality prospect acquisition, organic spend and lend growth, engagement and customer retention
  • Lead operations for the SBS Card, Loyalty and Benefits team including leadership of 2025 IAG Audit
  • Manage a team of 2 high-performing colleagues

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Authentic leader with demonstrated ability to create a diverse and inclusive team and develop talent
  • Financial acumen and P&L management skills, with ability to innovate and drive results in a highly complex, matrixed environment
  • A strategic and creative thinker with ability to solve complex problems, define what winning looks like for customers and shareholders and bring structure to white space
  • A customer-first mindset with knowledge of small business customer needs
  • A collaborative leader with strong cross-functional leadership and influence management skills across the enterprise with a diverse set of partners
  • Understanding of the external competitive landscape and small business customer needs, and ability to be flexible and pivot quickly based on needs of our business and partners
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal, and exceptional executive presence and comfort in front of audiences of all levels
  • Bachelor's degree
  • NY-based position (hybrid)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Direct product management experience

Salary Range: $145,000.00 to $230,000.00 annually + bonus + equity (if applicable) + benefits
