
Director, Product Strategy (must have retail energy experience)

Essential Job Duties:
The Director of Product Strategy for VertexOne will focus on the product vision for the VXretail product that aligns with the company’s strategy. This role will outline the steps and milestones needed to achieve product objectives and prioritize initiatives based on their impact and feasibility. They will also collaborate with various teams to align them around the product vision and facilitate independent design-making decisions across larger teams.
- Own and maintain the 3–5 year product vision and roadmap for VXretail
- Define and validate market problems, user personas, and use case scenarios
- Lead market research, win/loss analysis, and competitor assessments for their domain
- Translate company and portfolio strategy into investment priorities and product-line-level strategic priorities
- Develop and maintain the business plan, pricing strategy, and buy/build/partner approach
- Define and manage the strategic narrative (problem, value proposition, differentiation)
- Partner with Product Marketing on positioning, pricing, and launch strategy
- Define success metrics and regularly track product performance against them
- Serve as executive-facing representative for their product line
- Guide Technical PMs to ensure all backlog items and delivery plans align to strategic intent
- Align stakeholders for their domain across product, marketing, sales, customer success, and engineering
Decision Authority
- Owns final decision-making authority for the roadmap and prioritization in their domain
- Sets product strategy for their domain, including pricing, market focus, and value narrative
- Approves significant investment decisions, feature prioritization, and release planning for their product line
- Accountable for achieving product-line-level strategic, customer, and financial goals

Education and Certification Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, computer science, or a related field
- Must have retail energy and/or utility experience
- 8+ years of relevant experience in product development, product management, or related utilities/energy industry roles
