DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Leadership & Supervision: Lead, supervise, and mentor the support staff teams. Ensure an effective supervision process is carried out, supporting clear communication and consistent performance expectations across departments.
2. Staffing & Recruitment: Develop staffing strategies to attract, recruit, and retain qualified personnel. Oversee hiring processes, ensuring compliance with facility policies and regulatory requirements.
3. Training & Development: Implement and manage comprehensive training programs to ensure staff are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge, including behavioral health policies, customer service standards, and compliance requirements.
4. Performance Management: Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and create performance improvement plans as needed. Develop supervisory staff skills to provide the same for their teams.
5. Operational Support: Collaborate with department leaders to ensure staffing levels align with patient care needs. Assist in the development and implementation of scheduling, resource allocation, and workflow strategies.
6. Compliance & Quality Assurance: Ensure all support staff comply with regulatory standards, including safety, privacy, and patient rights, and that staff adhere to best practices in behavioral health care.
7. Conflict Resolution: Address staff concerns, interpersonal issues, and conflicts in a timely and professional manner. Maintain a positive and collaborative work environment, setting the tone for department culture.
8. Budget & Resource Management: Assist with the development and monitoring of staffing budgets, ensuring effective use of resources.
9. Facility Coordination: Work closely with leadership, clinical teams, and other departments to maintain smooth operations; ensuring support staff can contribute to patient care in a meaningful way.
10. Continuous Improvement: Advocate for and lead initiatives to improve operational efficiencies, staff satisfaction, and patient care outcomes.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

1. Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
2. Must be able to actively participate and supervise patient recreation activities, such as ropes course
3. Must be able to drive 15-passenger van to and from various activities
4. Must be able to travel for conferences
5. Must be able to present to audiences in large and small group settings, which may require long periods of time and be of multiple presentations

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the chemical dependency/behavioral healthcare field
2. 2 years of supervisory/management experience
3. High School Diploma or equivalent required
4. Bachelor’s degree preferred, or 2 years administrative experience required.
5. If in recovery, 2 years of uninterrupted sobriety preferred
6. Must possess a valid PA driver’s license

2. Behavioral Health Knowledge: Strong understanding of the unique needs of patients in a behavioral health setting, including knowledge of therapeutic practices, patient care standards, and patient rights.
3. Staff Development: Experience in training, coaching, and developing staff to reach their full potential, with a focus on improving both individual performance and team dynamics. Empower staff to make autonomous decisions.
4. Conflict Resolution & Problem-Solving: Excellent conflict resolution skills, with the ability to address and de-escalate challenging situations effectively. Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills to address operational issues.
5. Communication Skills: Superior verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with all levels of staff, management, patients, and external stakeholders.
6. Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while maintaining attention to detail and meeting deadlines.
7. Technology Proficiency: Competence in using various software systems, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), HRIS, and EMR systems, with the ability to adapt to new technologies.
8. Cultural Competence: Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and promote an inclusive and respectful environment for all staff and patients.
9. Emotional Intelligence: High emotional intelligence with the capacity to empathize, manage stress, and navigate complex interpersonal dynamics with sensitivity.
