JOB SUMMARY
Reporting to the Area Vice President, Asia Pacific, the Director for Resource Development is a senior leadership role responsible for designing and executing a comprehensive fundraising strategy to secure an annual international portfolio of $60-75 million. The role will drive annual revenue growth to enable the vision of the global strategy, "50 for 50" the Asia-Pacific regional strategy and the Global Impact 25, which seeks to triple impact across the region.
This is a senior people leader role responsible for leading the Resource Development (RD) team to meet and exceed funding targets and deliver sustainable revenue outcomes across a diverse portfolio, including high net worth individuals, individual giving, corporates, philanthropists, Habitat for Humanity affiliate gifts, and institutional donors. The role provides assertive planning leadership, maintains a strong bias for action, and drives accountability to achieve key departmental objectives. It fosters a high performing culture through open communication, clear goal setting, and ongoing performance coaching aligned with Habitat for Humanity International’s mission. As a member of the Area Management Team, this role contributes to the broader strategic direction and leadership of the region, beyond the RD function. The role also manages a dotted line relationship with Asia Pacific Global Foundations, Organizations and Institutions (GFOI) staff. This position is critical to securing the sustainable funding required for Habitat for Humanity International to achieve its strategic objectives and mission.
Key internal stakeholders include the federated Global Funding Network (GFN) organizations, the federation of National Organizations (NOs), Branches of Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI), Habitat for Humanity International headquarters Resource Development (HQ RD), Global Funding Organizations and Institutions (GFOI)and HFHI Area Office (AO) Program Development and Management Department and other Area Office departments. Key external stakeholders include high net-worth individuals, corporates, institutional donors and others.
Minimum Management Skill
This is a senior people leader role responsible for leading, developing, and managing the Resource Development (RD) team to achieve its targets and key departmental objectives. The role fosters a positive and high performing work culture through open communication, clear goal setting, and ongoing performance coaching and development, all aligned with the mission of Habitat for Humanity International. As a member of the Area Management Team, this role also contributes to the broader strategic direction and leadership of the region, beyond the RD function.
Essential Duties
Leadership and Strategic Management 30%
- Lead and implement the Asia Pacific resource development strategy to achieve annual fundraising targets of USD 40–60 million for international programs and sustain total regional revenue of USD 60–75 million
- Drive major fundraising outcomes and partnerships by identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding a portfolio of major donors—including high net worth individuals, corporates, philanthropists, affiliates, institutional donors, GFN leaders and Global Village—building long term, transformational funding relationships.
- Build and maintain senior level relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including corporate executives, philanthropists, board members, and global HFHI counterparts, to advance collaborative fundraising initiatives, match funding opportunities, and Global Funding Network strategies.
- Provide support to the Asia Pacific Development Council
- Lead and manage the Asia Pacific Area Office fundraising team, accountable for delivering annual revenue targets across a diversified funding portfolio, while fostering performance, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Promote innovation, integration, and data driven decision making by advancing fundraising innovations with strong ROI; collaborating with global HFHI and Communications teams on brand, marketing, and direct fundraising initiatives; and championing the effective use of CRM systems, analytics, and performance metrics.
- Contribute to regional leadership and strategy as a member of the Asia Pacific Area Management Team (AMT), supporting the effective implementation of regional and global strategies across the region.
Funding and relationship Management 45%
- Create, cultivate, nurture and manage relationships with key donors and supporters
- Collaborate with the Executive Director/CEO/ND and Board of Directors to set and achieve ambitious multi-year fundraising targets and strategic growth initiatives for each National Organization and Branch to align with the program priorities.
- Facilitate alignment of GFN fund raising for international programs.
- Provide direction and oversight to RD-led events and initiatives.
- Lead the development and execution of customized engagement and recognition programs for major donors to ensure continued support and donor retention
- Oversee the preparation and timely submission of proposals, reports, and stewardship materials tailored to the interests and requirements of major donors
- Increase and diversify the number and nature of donors within the AP region
- Represent and coordinate appropriate mobilization of regional representatives (e.g Programs SMEs, NDs, etc) to represent Habitat for Humanity at key events, conferences, and donor meetings to enhance organizational visibility and engagement opportunities
People and Resource Management 25%
- Maintain and manage an annual direct fundraising portfolio in line with established revenue targets.
- Plan for and ensure adequate investment to support fundraising efforts at both regional and National Organization levels.
- Manage HFHI revenue and expense budgets for the Regional Development function in AP.
- Coordinate and support the evaluation (e.g., Go/No Go processes), development, and reporting of major funding proposals, including corporate and major donor grants.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable legal, regulatory, and ethical standards related to fundraising and donor relations.
- Lead and oversee the day to day operations of the RD AP department.
- Recruit, develop, and mentor talent within the AP RD team, providing practical coaching on budgeting, procurement, strategic and operational planning, and reporting systems.
Cross Functional Capabilities
Employees in multiple divisions with different skillsets work together to achieve Habitat for Humanity International’s mission and common strategic goals.
Key aspects of cross-functional responsibilities in a global non-profit include: Strategic planning, program design and implementation, communication and branding, monitoring and evaluation, and compliance and risk management.
Minimum Requirements
- Master’s degree in Sales & Marketing, Business Administration, International Development, or other related course.
- Minimum 10+ years of progressive experience in resource development / fundraising in Asia & the Pacific region, including:
- Major donors, corporate partnerships, and/or institutional funding
- Proposal development and donor stewardship
- 5+ years in a senior leadership or director-level role, with responsibility for:
- Regional or multi-country fundraising portfolios
- Strategy, budgeting, and revenue accountability
- Demonstrated experience working across multiple countries, cultures, and stakeholder groups. Asia-Pacific experience is required and in addition, experience in other regions is strongly preferred.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding fundraising targets at scale

Preferred Requirements
- Competencies and other specific related to this job and level preferred.
- Fundraising experience in the USA, European, or another region in addition to Asia-Pacific
- Understanding of and working knowledge of multi-lateral funding agencies, foundations, organizations and institutions as well as impact investments
- or Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) certification is preferred
