The Purpose of This Role

The Shareholder Reporting Team within Fidelity Fund and Investment Operations (FFIO) technology business unit supports applications that our business partners use to generate prospectuses, financial statements, and regulatory filings. As a Director/Chapter Lead of software engineering, you will lead teams to develop capabilities and the underlying platforms. You’ll have the opportunity to contribute ideas to improve our products as well as develop your skills, learn new technologies and languages, and continue to learn. We're looking for highly motivated individuals who work well in a collaborative, iterative, and fast-paced environment.

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Science (or equivalent STEM discipline)
  • Own all technical aspects of software engineering for assigned applications.
  • Write codes and perform tests of applications.
  • Provide hands on expertise with architecture, technical design, and performance tuning on development tasks in ongoing sprints.
  • Develop deep understanding of the tie-ins with other systems and platforms within the supported domains.
  • Drive ongoing product and platform release sprints with various team members and business stake holders.
  • Mentor Engineers on Agile team and implement high-quality software components.
  • Identify opportunities to adopt innovative technologies.

Technical / Behavioral

  • Technology leadership, critical thinking, and influencing skills across diverse organizational structures.
  • Driving technology architecture, strategies & product roadmaps for large, complex systems.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud-based technologies specifically the AWS platform.
  • Hands on experience on Design & Development and Architecture.
  • Strong programming skills with digital mindset, and fluent across technology components including API Services development and consumption using modern frameworks and open-source technologies.

  • Apply state-of-the-art tools and methods to enable efficiency, performance and agility through automating DevOps processes, continuous integration, and delivery pipelines.

  • Core Java, Spring, Design patterns, Angular, REST, J2EE Object Oriented design, and development skills.
  • Ability to participate in working sessions that result in clear requirements and technical design, even when working with non-technical members of SCRUM teams.
  • Proven experience with Continuous Integration concepts and DevOps best-practices & tools (Maven, Jenkins, GitHub, Jira, etc.)

The Expertise We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer science or any other discipline
  • 15+ years of experience in Java, Web, and Cloud technology role
  • 3+ years of experience with people management, coaching and leading engineering team
