Job Description:

The Role

We are looking for a Director of Technology Strategy & Planning who will demonstrate strategic, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills to support the strategic planning process and business management processes for the Data domain within Fidelity Technology. You will deliver results as both an individual contributor and through influence in a highly matrixed, fast-paced organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead Strategic Initiatives: Design, launch, and manage enterprise-wide programs that support long-term business goals and transformation agendas.

  • Program Governance: Establish and maintain program governance frameworks, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives, timelines, and budgets.

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Partner with senior leaders across business units, technology, and operations to ensure alignment, buy-in, and successful delivery.

  • Partner with the implementation of the new portfolio construct, ensuring alignment to programs and products for all of Enterprise Technology

  • Champion the setup and adoption of resource management best practices for Enterprise Technology

  • Support the adoption of program standards to ensure consistency, quality, and efficiency for all enterprise technology programs.

The Expertise You Have and The Skills You Bring

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 5+ years of related work experience

  • Results oriented with experience in program, project and product management

  • Exceptional management, analytical, communication, and problem-solving capabilities

  • Ability to acquire, synthesize and interpret program and project data into executive themes and storylines

  • Experience in strategy, objective and KPI setting and tracking

  • Proven track record of collaborating to build consensus across multiple levels of the organization, and influencing and driving delivery of senior leaders

  • Ability to develop and influence relationships across all management levels, including leading, influencing, and motivating colleagues without formal authority; track record of leading hard-working teams

  • Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written, and comfort addressing, influencing, and managing senior leaders

  • Ability to manage and synthesize large datasets and ability to elevate data for executive-level presentations

  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail

  • Intellectual curiosity and analytics experience that will result in key insights and solutions for sophisticated business problems

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced situation and to handle stress, as well as to adapt to rapid changes in information, process, direction, or immediate workflow

  • Ability to manage a range of tasks, prioritize work independently, and meet deadlines

  • Solid understanding of Agile delivery methodologies, a plus

  • Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written, and comfort addressing, influencing, and managing senior leaders

  • Work closely with management to establish management routines (Staff, Executive Updates/Leadership meetings)

  • Program management of key projects/programs

  • Analysis and insights to support the development and ongoing assessment of operational forecasts, objectives/KPIs, staffing strategies, and multi-year business plans

  • Build trust and key working relationships with a distributed team, finance partners and business leaders

  • Optimizing the operating model to improve scale and efficiency

The Team

This dynamic team is a part of the Strategy & Planning function supporting Fidelity Application Architecture and Fidelity Data Architecture. These teams are helping to lead Fidelity’s digital technology transformation and accelerating the adoption of technology and using innovative and Agile practices. This team is working with business and technology teams to define strategy and provide strategic technology direction and an architecture vision for the systems supporting Fidelity’s businesses at the enterprise level.

  • Note: Fidelity will not provide immigration sponsorship for this position.

The base salary range for this position is $110,000-222,000 USD per year.

Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate’s relevant experience, and other factors.

Base salary is only part of the total compensation package. Depending on the position and eligibility requirements, the offer package may also include bonus or other variable compensation.
