
Distribution Project Management, Associate Project Manager

Become a Distribution Project Management, Associate Project Manager at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this role, you’ll be responsible for project managing multiple commodities in the Distribution Project Management organization (DPM). DPM oversees the day-to-day execution and project management of $2.3 billion in wildfire mitigation, pole replacements, a variety of grid modernization, infrastructure replacement, and load growth projects across the SCE service territory. This position will manage Distribution projects across the IPSEC model. Includes scoping, estimating, project budgeting and approval, oversight of project execution and project close out.
Key Focus Areas:
- Manage projects from initiation to closure to meet company goals, compliance requirements and grid hardening objectives.
- Create and handle short and long-term execution plans, forecasts, and schedules
- Collaborate with Environmental, Government Lands, Permitting, Railroad, and Easement organizations to meet Pre-construction requirements for successful project execution.
- Lead or be a principal participant in meetings with leadership, peers and project partners, offering comprehensive project updates and collaborating on strategies to achieve project objectives.
- Strengthening relationships with our partners including Design & Field Asset Services (DFAS), Distribution Operations, Contractor Operations, Engineering and others.
- Participate in process improvement working sessions and assist in developing implementation plans.
- Maintain a safety conscious work environment by following Edison safety protocols, safe work practices; and performing other responsibilities and duties as assigned.
Responsibilities
- Manages multiple work streams of one or more short-term projects with responsibility for results in terms of costs, methods and outcomes
- Exercises latitude and judgement in developing plans, budgets, and resources, directing activities and actions, and determining deliverables
- Develops and recommends course of action on moderately complex projects in conjunction with the Project Manager
- Collaborates with Project Managers and Department/Division management on analyzing projects and recommending courses of action
- Assists in ensuring project plans and scope meet the agreed-upon business needs and expectations
- Monitors the project's key parameters such as budget, timeline and quality reviews
- Ensures project documentation is being effectively maintained ; Submits relevant documents to federal, state and local authorities for code compliance review and obtains required permits
- Prepares documentation and presentations to provide project needs or updates for the business; Gathers, defines and documents project scope, objectives, and requirements
- Tracks cost and schedule of the project and uses analytical skills to forecast future needs and trends; Resolves and raises problems of project specific scope within procedural guidelines
- Identifies opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement; Analyzes policies and procedures to provide next step recommendations as needed

Minimum Qualifications
- Five or more years of experience in project management or project support.
Preferred Qualifications
- Two or more years of experience working in the Utility Industry.
- Experience in Planning or Construction, with Electric Utility.
- Experience and ability reading and interpreting Construction Maps and Plans.
- Experience in Construction Project Management.
- Experience supporting capital projects, including planning and coordinating multiple deliverables; preparing presentation materials, agendas, and meeting minutes; monitoring and reporting project status; and coordinating activities to ensure timely delivery.
- Experience creating and editing reports, graphs, and presentations, converting information between formats, generating non-standard reports, and maintaining records, logs, document files, and databases used to monitor, track, and trend project costs, resources, schedules, and status.
- Experience with Share Point, BI Dashboards, and Data Analytics.
- Experience with the Microsoft Office suite, including CoPilot.
- Experience integrating work across functions, managing risks appropriately, developing and execute business plans, distill and communicate information effectively, and provide excellent service to internal and external customers.
Additional Information
- This position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.

- The primary work location for this position is Pomona, CA (Pomona Innovation Village). However, the successful candidate may also be asked to work for an extended amount of time at other locations throughout your assigned service territory.
- Position will require up to 25% traveling and being out in the field throughout the SCE service territory.

Salary range
- $111,600 - $167,400 per year
