Job Summary

The Human Development Institute (HDI) at the University of Kentucky is Kentucky’s Center on Disability.

HDI is seeking an Early Care and Education Coach to join our team and support the Child Care Aware project.

Child Care Aware of Kentucky is committed to ensuring families have access to safe, affordable, high-quality child care. Our goal is to improve child care quality by offering free technical assistance and training to child care providers and connecting the community to resources and educational materials which support high quality child care.Serving The Lakes Region of Kentucky (17 counties in the Pennyrile ADD and Purchase ADD), this Training Coach position will work closely with the state funder to ensure child care providers have access to quality training. The responsibilities of this role include:
  • Coordinate scheduled training sessions based on training needs assessments to support high‑quality early care and education.
  • Support trainers through the Cabinet’s Quality Assurance process to ensure delivery of consistent, high‑quality trainings.
  • Recruit and develop trainers by assisting potential providers and conducting Train‑the‑Trainer sessions directed by Child Care Aware of Kentucky.

This position will work from a home office and requires significant travel throughout 17 counties in The Lakes Region of Kentucky for on-site visits.

Preferred candidates will live in The Lakes Region, have both lived experiences and child care work experiences within the region, and demonstrate knowledge of the Lakes ECE community.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, Teams, Zoom, presentation equipment, excellent oral and written communication skills, and familiarity with early child care and education.

Early Childhood Education or related field, driver’s license and reliable transportation.
