Shift

Typically eight (8) hour work days with core working hours between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM EST.
Occasional evenings and weekends may be required as needed to meet specific workload demands.

Job Summary

The Human Development Institute (HDI) at the University of Kentucky is Kentucky’s Center on Disability.

HDI is seeking an Early Care and Education Coach to join our team and support the Child Care Aware project.

Child Care Aware of Kentucky is committed to ensuring families have access to safe, affordable, high-quality child care. Our goal is to improve child care quality by offering free technical assistance and training to child care providers and connecting the community to resources and educational materials which support high quality child care.Serving a selection of counties from the Northern Bluegrass Region of Kentucky (Boone, Bourbon, Campbell, Carroll, Gallatin, Grant, Harrison, Kenton, Nicholas, Pendleton, Owen and Scott counties), this ECE Quality Coach position will work closely with child care directors, teachers and partners to promote and implement quality practices. The aim of this role is to promote high-quality early care and education opportunities for all young children, including children with disabilities.

The responsibilities of this role include:
  • Provide relationship-based technical assistance via multiple modes of contact (on-site at child care programs and virtually through email, phone and video conferencing).
  • Support early care and education professionals in implementing strategies that support quality practices.
  • Facilitate movement and improvement within the Kentucky All STARS tiered quality rating and improvement system.

This is a remote position requiring a home office space and significant travel the Northern Bluegrass Region (with occasional travel outside the region within Kentucky) for on-site visits.

Preferred candidates will live within or adjacent to the Northern Bluegrass Region, have both lived experiences and child care work experiences within the region and demonstrate knowledge of the Northern Bluegrass ECE community.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities

Proficiency in MS Office applications, Teams, Zoom, presentation equipment, excellent oral and written communication skills, and familiarity with early child care and education.

Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field.
Driver’s license preferred.
