The Southeast Health District, Babies Can't Wait program is seeking a highly qualified candidate to fill the full-time, salaried position of Early Intervention Coordinator, based in Waycross, GA.

As a Coordinator with the SEHD, you will join a dedicated group of public health professionals that help support the overall mission and vision of protecting lives of Georgian residents in a variety of ways.

Job Responsibilities

Babies Can’t Wait serves eligible infants and toddlers with special needs up to age three and their family. As Early Intervention Coordinator, ensures implementation of federal, state and local programmatic guidelines and procedures in the sixteen-county health district. Manages fiscal, personnel and other resources to ensure compliance of programmatic requirements and to provide quality services to enrolled children and their caregivers. Seeks creative solutions to eliminate access barriers and ensure a continuum of care for infants and toddlers, working across public and private partnerships. As a manager conducts ongoing quality assurance/quality improvement processes based on data gathered and through programmatic reporting. As a supervisor, oversees multiple direct reports and provides coaching, support and development opportunities for employees to optimize performance. Recruits qualified professionals and assists with linkage to and through the statewide contracting process to maintain an adequate network of private service providers for families. Reviews financial reports, authorizes appropriate expenditures, monitors budgets, and participates in fiscal audits as determined by state and local officials. Conducts regular reviews of documentation for child services and third-party billing and provides feedback to both public staff and contracted service providers, as applicable. Communicates fiscal and programmatic needs to the state office. Works directly with and ensures agency collaboration with numerous community providers and partners to fully support children with special needs and their families. Promotes awareness of Babies Can’t Wait and other public health programs across the sixteen-county area to increase the early identification of children with special needs.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university AND One year of related experience or completion of an apprenticeship/internship that sufficiently supplied experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position. five years of professional experience providing services to or teaching infants/toddlers and families and/or in the administration of a service delivery program for infants/toddlers and families or children's health.Preferred Qualifications:Completion of a master’s degree in early childhood development, special education, or a related field. Two or more years of supervisory and programmatic/project management experience is desirable. Also preferred is public health experience, budget management, data management and reporting and experience in public and private sectors of education and/or healthcare.

Southeast Health District accepts educational credential recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and/or the US Department of Education (DOE) will be considered. SEHD will contact educational institutions to verify degree, diploma, licensure, etc.
