Posting Description
Habitat for Humanity Africa invites qualified communications professionals/consultancies to submit proposals to provide pan‑African earned media support leveraging its new campaign and Habitat’s global 50th‑anniversary visibility efforts. Shortlisting will be conducted on a rolling basis. Final deadline for applications: 1 April 2026.
PURPOSE
Partner with Habitat for Humanity Africa to secure high‑value regional and multi‑country coverage that elevates Africa‑led storytelling on housing through an integrated lens (health, climate resilience, education, youth, livelihoods), and drives clear calls to action.
SCOPE
Working in close collaboration with the Habitat for Humanity Africa communications team, the selected partner will:
- Develop a pan‑African earned media plan aligned to the campaign editorial calendar; craft sector‑relevant angles and key messages.
- Produce press materials (press releases, advisories, op‑eds, Q&As) and press kits (story briefs, quotes, data cards, CTAs).
- Lead journalist engagement & pitching, including regional and where necessary multi‑country outreach tied to priority dates (e.g., AUF2, WUF13, World Malaria Day, Africa Day, WHD).
- Provide media event support (media breakfast, press briefings, media tours/builds) and coordinate asset distribution to the media.
- Offer risk & reputation guidance on sensitive links between housing and public outcomes.
- Monitor & report coverage with monthly summaries and an end‑of‑engagement report.
- Pan‑African earned media plan (with sector‑specific angles and key messages).
- Press kits & press materials for priority stories as provided by the comms teams (briefs, quotes, data cards, CTAs).
- Journalist pitching & secured earned coverage across priority outlets/markets.
- Media event support (planning, newsroom coordination etc).
- Monthly media monitoring reports (reach, sentiment, themes, CTA performance).
- Final coverage & recommendations report (insights for future storytelling).
- Categorized cross‑sector media database (hand‑over to HFH Africa at close).
- Summary of partner‑inclusive media moments where relevant (invitations/quotes from sector partners to underscore housing as a shared responsibility).
- 7–10+ years earned‑media experience across Africa; strong networks in health, climate, development, business, and general news.
- Proven support for regional and multi‑country media campaigns; development/nonprofit communications experience is an advantage.
- Ability to translate data and human stories into newsworthy narratives.
