Electrical Engineer

AI Engineers, Inc. (AIE) is looking for an Electrical Engineer to join our Mechanical/Electrical Design team based in Middletown, CT. The ideal candidate should possess a can-do attitude, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and an ability to work independently as well as with a team in a dynamic, fast-paced, and innovative consulting engineering firm. Requirements/Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline (preferred)
E.I.T. or P.E. License, or ability to obtain (preferred)
3+ years of technical experience in the industry, specifically focused on electrical design
If no degree, 5+ years of work experience in consulting engineering industry
Knowledge of Codes and standards used for Electrical design (NFPA 70, NFPA 72, Building Code, IECC, etc.)

Responsibilities:
Design of normal and emergency power distribution, lighting, lighting control systems, and fire alarm systems.
Draft layout and design of electrical systems, with minimal supervision
Apply understanding and knowledge of Codes and Standards used for Electrical design (NFPA 70, NFPA 72, Building Code, IECC, etc.)
Perform electrical engineering calculations (voltage drop, short circuit, electrical loads, etc.)
Design electrical systems from concept to completion.
Proficient in AutoCAD, REVIT and MicroStation experience is a plus.
Independently perform site visits as needed

Skills & Abilities:
A self-starter with the ability to support project teams and work on multiple and concurrent projects/assignments
Strong technical skills with the ability to support multi-disciplinary teams
Must be proficient and have experience in electrical design and analysis as well as development of final drawings, specifications, and cost estimates
Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills
Understanding the project delivery methods
Ability and willingness to travel to project sites
Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Occasional to moderate travel may be required.
