Job Description Elevator Technician – Code ComplianceFortis Native Group is looking for a Full-Time Elevator Mechanic for our Miami 7 contract; candidate must be willing to travel between assigned sites and may be asked to assist at non-assigned sites The Elevator Mechanic repairs and maintains "Automated People Movers" and like named devices used in the transportation of people and materials including, but not limited to elevators, escalators, dumbwaiters, and moving walkways to meet safety regulations and building codes as associated with the Portsmouth facilities. This individual must foster teamwork, cooperation, and results while monitoring efficiency, productivity and be fiscally responsible.

    • brakes
    • electrical motors
    • switches
    • signal
    • control systems
  • The Elevator Mechanic must troubleshoot using computers, test lamps, voltmeters, ammeters, and oscilloscopes
    • disassembles defective units
    • repairs or replaces parts such as...
    • electrical door locks
    • cables
    • electrical wiring
    • faulty safety devices
  • The Elevator Mechanic must also install push button control systems
    • complete control systems
    • other devices to modernize automated people mover systems
    • cleans and lubricates bearing and other parts to minimize friction.
    • Maintain Elevator Cab in accordance with code
Qualifications: Minimum
  • Florida Certified Elevator Technician (CET)
  • Florida Certificate of Competency
  • 4+ years elevator maintenance and repair experience
  • Ability to perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and emergency response
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to pass federal background screening and site access requirements
  • Proficiency with MS Office computer programs (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)

  • Otis
  • Schindler
  • TK Elevator
  • KONE
Required education:
  • High school or equivalent
Pay / Benefits:
  • Pay and Benefits according to the Experience and certifications
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
  • Ability to work in machine rooms, shafts, pits, confined spaces, and elevated locations.
  • Availability for emergency and after-hours callouts as required.
