The Email Marketing Specialist position will be a part of a highly motivated communications and creative services team that is tasked with supporting the firm’s diverse content creation and client communication needs.  They will fuel education, retention and engagement of existing and perspective clients and internal audiences through effective email campaigns using the Salesforce Marketing Cloud platform. The Email Marketing Specialist will have experience in building and coordinating email marketing automation programs. This person will have attention to detail and time management skills with a sense of accountability for the work they oversee and will be comfortable partnering directly with internal clients and departments within the firm to achieve business objectives. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Configure and maintain the organization’s Salesforce Marketing Cloud platform to meet marketing needs. 
  • Skillfully manage and segment email lists for targeted campaigns. Ensure list hygiene, monitoring opt-ins, opt-outs, and unsubscribes. 
  • Create and manage user accounts, roles and permissions within the platform. 
  • Build and schedule email campaigns using Salesforce Marketing Cloud. Ensure timely delivery and troubleshoot technical hiccups. 
  • Journey mapping and database design. 
  • Monitor and maintain data integrity and quality within the platform, ensuring accurate segmentation and personalization. 
  • Engage in collaborative efforts with marketing teams to formulate data-centric strategies and campaigns that harmonize with business objectives. 
  • Ensure campaigns comply with relevant laws (CAN-SPAM Act, GDPR). Manage opt-out requests and maintain compliance records. 
  • Leverage the analytical prowess of the platform to monitor campaign performance, generate comprehensive reports, and furnish actionable insights. 
  • Remain well-informed about industry trends, best practices, and the latest advancements within the Salesforce Marketing Cloud platform to stay at the cutting edge of marketing innovation. 

Educational and/or Work Experience 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field. 
  • 2 years’ experience working in Salesforce Marketing Cloud.

Technical Qualifications 

  • Technical knowledge and proficiency in Salesforce Marketing Cloud platform configuration and administration. This includes a deep understanding of Journey Builder, Email Studio, Mobile Studio, Automation Studio and other relevant modules, along with their integration capabilities. 
  • A solid technical foundation, including knowledge of HTML, CSS, SQL and/or AMPscript, in order to customize email templates, troubleshoot code-related issues and interact effectively with development and IT teams. 
  • Proficiency in data management, segmentation and analysis is crucial for effective campaign targeting and optimization.  
  • Knowledge of SQL and data manipulation techniques to extract meaningful insights and leverage customer data effectively. 
  • Experience in using the Salesforce CRM platform, with an understanding in facilitating data synchronization and integration processes between Salesforce and Marketing Cloud. 
  • Salesforce Marketing Cloud certifications (such as Salesforce Certified Marketing Cloud Administrator) are a plus. 

Other Qualifications 

  • Analytical mindset and ability to interpret and leverage data for campaign optimization. 
  • Understanding of email best practices and experience managing analytics and collaborating with stakeholders to evolve strategies for continuous enhancements. 
  • Strong problem-solving skills, coupled with a detail-oriented mindset, allow for quick identification and resolution of technical or functional challenges. 
  • Understanding of the nuances of voice and tone while working within corporate brand guidelines.  
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams. 
  • Experience working in project management tools such as Asana.
