POSITION SUMMARY
The Engagement Coordinator plays a key role in fostering meaningful connections between prospective students and the academic departments in the College of Graduate and Professional Studies. This position is responsible for managing and executing engagement events with the academic departments, developing compelling content, and ensuring consistent messaging across all communication channels. The Engagement Coordinator will assess the efficacy of events to develop an effective academic engagement strategy when working with prospective students.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and possesses excellent communication skills to enhance outreach efforts and assess the impact of engagement initiatives.
Reporting to the Project Coordinator, the Engagement Coordinator will be part of the Dean’s Office. The Engagement Coordinator will collaborate with leaders and colleagues across The College of Graduate and Professional Studies to advance the mission, vision, and goals of The Chicago School. This position isremote. Evening and weekend hours will be required as needed.Occasionaldomestic travel may be required.
Preference: Candidates located within driving distance of one of our campus locations (D.C., Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles, or Anaheim) to support in-person events as needed.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Event Planning & Execution
- Plan, coordinate, and execute engagement events for prospective students, including academic colloquiums, information sessions, and asynchronous content.
- Manage event logisticsand follow-up communications.
- Collaborate with faculty, staff, and other departments to create meaningful event experiences.
Content Creation & Distribution
- Develop engaging content, including emails, newsletters, blogs, podcasts, social media posts, event materials, and website updates, to attract and inform prospective students as well as The Chicago School community.
- Ensure content is aligned with institutional messaging and branding guidelines.
- Manage distribution of content across multiple communication channels.
Assessment & Reporting
- Track and analyze engagement metrics to measure the effectiveness of events and outreach initiatives.
- Gather feedback from event attendees and stakeholders to continuously improve engagement efforts.
- Prepare reports on event outcomes, participation trends, and communication effectiveness.
- Develop strategies to enhance engagement and build relationships with prospective students.
Administrative & Stakeholder Support
- Take detailed meeting notes and maintain organized records.
- Coordinate outreach to internal and external stakeholders as needed.
- Perform data entry, clean-up, and maintenance across relevant systems.
- Provide general administrative assistance to the Dean’s Office.
- Support special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, higher education administration, or a related field.
- One or more years of experience in event planning, engagement, marketing, or a related role, preferably in a higher education setting.
- Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a talent for crafting engaging content.
- Proficiency in digital marketing tools, email platforms, and social media management.
- Ability to analyze data and assess the impact of engagement efforts.
- Collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively with diverse teams.
Compensation & Benefits
This opportunity is budgeted at $$50,000 - $60,000 base compensation. Additional compensation factors may impact total compensation.
