Multiple shifts available; 40 hours per University week to meet the event needs of the department which includes evenings and weekend.

Job Summary

The University Events Production team is seeking a Event Production Technician for university events and programs both on and off campus. This role operates and supports audio, video, lighting, presentation, projection, recording, livestreaming, and related digital production systems while collaborating with event stakeholders to deliver professional, reliable, and high-quality event experiences.


What You Will Do
• Provide live event and digital production services, including audio, video, lighting, presentation, projection, recording, livestreaming, and video playback for on-campus and off-campus events.
• Set up, configure, operate, monitor, and dismantle production equipment and systems based on event specifications, technical requirements, venue conditions, and available resources.
• Operate and integrate cameras, presentation systems, streaming platforms, video displays, and other digital production technologies.
• Monitor audio, video, lighting, and digital production systems throughout events and independently identify, diagnose, and resolve technical issues to minimize service interruptions.
• Apply technical judgment to select and configure appropriate production systems and solutions based on event needs, audience requirements, venue capabilities, and available resources.
• Collaborate with event organizers, campus departments, presenters, performers, and other stakeholders to assess event needs and determine technical production requirements.
• Provide professional, responsive, and solutions-oriented technical support during event planning, preparation, and execution, including responding to changing conditions and time-sensitive production needs.
• Assist with the preparation, recording, streaming, delivery, and management of event content in accordance with established procedures.
• Mentor and support Student Technicians during live events and office assignments, helping develop technical skills and promote professional production practices.
• Maintain, organize, inventory, transport, configure, test, and properly store audio, video, lighting, presentation, streaming, and related production equipment.
• Assist with evaluating, testing, implementing, and integrating new production technologies and equipment to support evolving university event and production needs.
• Follow university policies, production procedures, and applicable health and safety standards while contributing to safe and effective event operations.
• Assist Production Managers with event planning, special projects, equipment upgrades, process improvements, and other operational activities as assigned.


What You Will Bring
• Experience with live event production, digital media technology, audiovisual systems, livestreaming, or a related technical production environment.
• Knowledge and hands-on experience operating audio, video, lighting, presentation, projection, recording, streaming, and related digital production equipment.
• Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve issues in time-sensitive live event environments.
• Ability to independently operate and configure complex production systems while exercising sound technical judgment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with event organizers, presenters, performers, campus partners, and production teams.
• Commitment to providing professional, responsive, and customer-focused technical support.
• Ability to assess event requirements, venue conditions, and available resources and recommend appropriate technical solutions.
• Ability to mentor and support student employees and colleagues in the safe and effective use of production technologies and equipment.
