
Exadata - Oracle SQL/PLSQL
Strategic Advisors Technology (SAT) is seeking a Principal Software Engineer / Full Stack Engineer with deep expertise in Oracle database technologies, particularly Oracle Exadata, and a proven track record of building high-performing, scalable, enterprise cloud-enabled distributed systems. We are looking for a hands-on engineering leader who combines strong Oracle SQL/PLSQL development, data architecture, and application integration capabilities with a passion for engineering excellence, performance optimization, and technology innovation.
The Expertise We’re Looking For
- Deep expertise in Oracle SQL and PL/SQL development, including complex query design, stored procedures, packages, triggers, and performance tuning.
- Strong hands-on experience with Oracle Exadata engineering, including performance optimization for Exadata-specific capabilities such as Smart Scan, Storage Indexes, Hybrid Columnar Compression (HCC), partitioning, and parallel query execution.
- Proven experience with Oracle database architecture and administration concepts, including RAC, ASM, Data Guard, RMAN, AWR/ASH analysis, and execution plan optimization.
- Strong experience in data analysis, data modeling, schema design, and implementation of high-performance data APIs.
- Expertise in diagnosing and tuning database performance bottlenecks across SQL, PL/SQL, storage, and infrastructure layers in mission-critical environments.
- Experience writing, maintaining, and optimizing batch processing solutions using technologies such as ETL/Informatica, Autosys, and Oracle-based scheduling or data movement frameworks.
- Strong understanding of fundamental design principles for building scalable, resilient, and maintainable applications.
- Experience with ATDD (Acceptance Test Driven Development) and writing automated tests for database and application code.
- Exposure to cloud and modern data technologies is a plus, including Snowflake, AWS S3, and hybrid data platforms.
- Strong interest in writing clean, testable, readable, maintainable, and high-performing code.
- Experience working in an Agile software delivery environment, with exposure to CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and DevOps practices.
- Ability to translate business storyboards and use cases into robust technical solutions that provide strategic advantage.
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and debugging skills across both database and application layers.
- Demonstrated ability to provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance, helping team members grow and perform at their highest potential.

As a Principal Software Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and optimizing strategic technology solutions with strong emphasis on Oracle and Exadata-based platforms. You will actively contribute to the code base while collaborating closely with architects, developers, analysts, and business partners across multiple subject areas. Using your strong technical depth and critical thinking skills, you will help transform business requirements and use cases into scalable applications and high-performance data solutions that deliver meaningful business value.

- Lead the design and implementation of software and database solutions that meet both functional and non-functional requirements and align with the program’s strategic direction.
- Serve as a technical leader for Oracle database engineering, with a focus on Exadata optimization, scalability, reliability, and performance tuning.
- Design and develop robust SQL/PLSQL-based services, data APIs, and batch frameworks to support critical business workflows.
- Lead and participate in application design reviews, database design reviews, code reviews, and performance optimization efforts.
- Drive engineering best practices for database development, ATDD, CI/CD, automated testing, and production readiness.
- Partner with global development teams to establish and promote standard methodologies for software engineering and database performance management.
- Fully engage in product quality efforts, including test case development, design and code reviews, regression testing, and automation, with an emphasis on reducing manual effort and increasing release quality.
- Proactively identify opportunities to improve system performance, reliability, observability, and operational efficiency across database and application ecosystems.
- Mentor junior and senior engineers alike, providing guidance on Oracle best practices, Exadata optimization strategies, and full-stack engineering approaches.
