The Lone Star College-Magnolia Center is a state-of-the-art, full-service satellite center that serves as a dynamic hub for higher education in Southwest Montgomery and Southeast Waller counties.

Lone Star College System offers high-quality, low-cost academic transfer and career training opportunities to 90,000 students each semester. The college system has eight main colleges, eight centers, eight Workforce Centers of Excellence and Lone Star Corporate College.

LSC-Magnolia Center offers students the opportunity to complete associate degrees for university transfer and pursue workforce certifications in HVAC and Emergency Medical Services (EMS).

Job Description

PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

The Executive Director, Magnolia Center holds direct management authority and accountability to coordinate and execute operational initiatives for Lone Star College-Magnolia Center. This role involves collaboration with executive and senior leadership at LSC-Tomball to carry out goals and objectives in alignment with LSC-Tomball's strategic plan. The Executive Director serves as a leader and liaison, fostering community engagement initiatives as well as ISD partnerships and pathways.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Provides leadership, short and long-term strategic planning, and development of initiatives and engagement programs and events for LSC-Magnolia.
  • Provides leadership, coordination, assessment, and oversight of a variety of Center instruction and operational areas, ensuring an overall integrated system. Areas may include but are not limited to admissions, registration, financial aid, bookstore, security, and facilities management.
  • Collaborates with the instructional, student services, and administrative teams in support of operational functions at the LSC-Magnolia Center. Provides input into decisions such as, but not limited to, personnel hiring and scheduling, course schedule development, and operating hours. May also help resolve and/or provide input into student or other personnel issues.
  • Provides oversight and direction of LSC-Magnolia Center budgetary allocations to meet college-wide goals and to include planning, forecasting, and monitoring expenditures
  • Develops and pursues professional relationships with area ISD's, higher education institutions, and community organizations to increase educational partnerships and to determine community educational needs, as well as to seek alternative sources of funding to support the Center.
  • Builds and manages relationships with external stakeholders, including community organizations, government agencies, and business leaders. Oversees external communication strategies to enhance public visibility and support institutional goals
  • Collaborates with marketing/college relations to develop and implement strategies for promoting strategic initiatives at LSC-Magnolia Center, ensuring consistent and effective communication across various platforms to enhance the center's visibility and engagement
  • Directs high-level needs assessments, evaluates, and advises on the impact of new programs and strategies; implements changes as needed in organizational and professional development practices, programs, and policies
  • Responsible for other reasonable related duties as assigned

PHYSICAL ABILITIES:

The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items, such as papers, books, or small parts; or driving an automobile. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.

WORK SCHEDULE AND CONDITIONS:

  • Equipment used includes a PC workstation running on a LAN in a Microsoft Windows environment, calculator, phone and other general office equipment
  • Interface with internal and external contacts as needed to carry out the functions of the position
  • Work is performed in a climate-controlled office with minimal exposure to safety hazards

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree and at least 7 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience must include at least 3 years in a management level position

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master's degree
  • Master's degree in a related field
  • Experience working in higher education
  • Experience developing and managing budgets
Salary

Hiring salary range is $103,314 - $118,811

Lone Star College provides a hiring salary range for all posted full-time non-faculty positions. Where your salary offer would fall in that range is determined by your related experience and education.
