Job Summary

The Finance and Administration Specialized Training (FAST) program https://finadmintraining.uky.edu/ is seeking a graduate student intern interested in joining the Instructional Design (ID) team. Our subject matter experts will provide content and the ID intern will be responsible, with support from the experienced IDs, in creating web-based training (WBTs), editing, and creating supplemental educational materials throughout production of the WBT. Experience using Captivate, Canva, Adobe Suite (i.e., Adobe PDF, Photoshop) and WellSaid software technology is preferred but not required. The intern will work closely with Learning Management System experts and have an opportunity to learn the ins and outs of systems and behind the scenes of launchingan online training program.



Specific duties will include (but not be limited to):



· Create and share materials in Microsoft Teams

· Assist in preparation for meetings

· Create, edit, review, and assist with final production of web-based training

· Typing text into various platforms

· Create closed captions and audio narration

· Adjust timing and wording

· Utilize Adobe Captivate, Canva, WellSaid Voices, and other software as needed

· Excellent communication skills

· Participate in weekly FAST Program staff meetings (typically virtual) and one on one meetings, when possible.



This internship has the opportunity for hybrid/remote work.



Skills / Knowledge / Abilities

The ideal candidate should be professional, independent, resourceful, have a positive attitude, a collaborative spirit and take initiative. They will be knowledgeable in adult learning theories, best practices, and able to apply them to web-based training. A background in education is preferred, but not required. Although not required, beginner skills in Adobe Captivate would be helpful.



The nature of this work requires the ability to give and receive constructive criticism. The candidate will need to be flexible, adaptable, and professional throughout the feedback process. They must be extremely detail-oriented with attention to continuous process improvement and maintain a high work ethic. They will have critical thinking, problem solving skills, and willingness to learn. Candidates must be trustworthy and work independently using time management skills to work independently, keep projects on track, and prioritize tasks.
