The Federal Financials Consultant will be a member of a financial systems implementation team. They will provide federal acounting expertise and lead the setup of the chart of accounts and Accounts Receivable (AR) subledger. They will work with the development team to provide functional expertise in creating custom solutions to support the AR and GL processes and reports. Responsibilities include:

  • Provide federal finance and accounting validation of business requirements during discovery, analysis, design, and testing phases.
  • Provide in-depth knowledge of:
    • Subledger operations (Accounts Receivable, Refunds, Adjustments)
    • General Ledger integration and reconciliation
    • Financial and compliance reporting (Trial Balances, GL Account Balances, Deposits, etc.)
  • Work with technical teams to ensure real-time transaction posting and balance management
  • Ensure reconciliation logic with internal systems, General Ledger system, and Treasury systems
  • QA for accuracy successful migration of financial data from legacy system
  • Participate in Agile sprints, user story development, and solution demos
  • Ensure compliance with federal accounting standards and internal agency policies.
  • Help define and validate audit trail requirements and support for reconciliations

The projected compensation range for this position is $140K - $165K annualized (USD). The final salary offered will generally fall within this range and is determined by various factors, including but not limited to the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as internal pay equity, location, contract-specific affordability and other organizational requirements.

Required Skills
  • 10+ years of experience in federal financial management or accounting roles (including on IT system development or support projects).
  • 5+ years in a consulting or SME role on federal financial system implementation projects, including experience leading Accounts Receivable module implementations.
  • Deep understanding of federal financial transaction flows, auditability, reconciliation processes.
  • Strong working knowledge of Accounts Receivable (AR) processes, including posting and reconciliation to General Ledger.
  • Experience with ERP COTS products for federal financial systems (strong preference for Microsoft Dynamics Finance or CGI Momentum experience)
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with both business users and technical developers.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments and participating in sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Must be a US Cititzen.
Desirable Skills
  • Hands-on experience with data migration planning, workflow redesign, and financial reporting
  • Experience with Power BI
  • Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or MB
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations (F&O)
  • Experience with CGI Momentum Financials

Salary range

  • $140,000 - $165,000
