Job Synopsis

The Finance Systems Administrator is responsible for the administration, optimization, and global rollout of MCC’s financial systems, including Sparkrock (MCC finance software) and related budgeting tools, across MCC U.S., MCC Canada, and International Program (IP) locations.

This role serves as MCC’s primary internal expert on financial systems, bridging finance and technology to support strong financial management, reporting, and decision-making across diverse international contexts. The position combines technical system expertise with a solid understanding of accounting and financial processes.

FTE and Schedule: 1.0 FTE. Schedule is flexible as there is a need to work across multiple time zones.

Qualifications

Essential:

· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field.

· Experience with ERP or financial systems (e.g., Sparkrock, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics Business Central, etc.)

· Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial processes

· Experience with system implementation, configuration, or data migration, including coordination of processes and user adoption

· Experience identifying and utilizing tools (including AI) to improve financial processes, reporting, and efficiency

· Strong analytical and Excel skills

· Ability to train and support users with varying levels of technical expertise

· Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

· Ability to work effectively across cultures and in a global organization

Preferred:

· Experience with Sparkrock or Microsoft Dynamics Business Central

· Experience in Power BI

· Experience in nonprofit and/or international development contexts

· Experience supporting multi-entity or multi-country financial systems

· Combined background in finance and systems implementation

· CPA designation

· Experience with project coordination, process improvement, or organizational change related to system implementation

· Fluency in Spanish or French.

Key Responsibilities

Specific Tasks and Duties:

1. Financial Systems Ownership & Administration

· Serve as the primary administrator and subject matter expert for Sparkrock and related financial systems, responsible for system configuration, user access in conjunction with IT, and ensuring alignment with MCC’s financial processes and reporting needs.

· Maintain financial data integrity, system documentation, and best practices in system use and configuration

· Provide ongoing user support and troubleshooting for financial systems (e.g., system usage, configuration, and reporting), coordinating with IT on technical or infrastructure-related issues

· Serve as primary liaison with financial systems vendors

· Contribute to the development and ongoing management of MCC’s financial systems roadmap, in collaboration with Finance leadership and IT

2. International Implementation & Rollout

· Lead and coordinate implementation of Sparkrock across International Program (IP) countries.

· Configure new country entities and support data migration and system setup

· Develop and deliver training for country and regional staff

· Adapt implementation approaches to varied operational and regulatory contexts

· Travel internationally as needed to support implementation and training

3. Systems Optimization & Process Improvement

· Design and improve financial workflows (e.g., approvals, procurement, budgeting)

· Develop and maintain financial and operational reports for:

o Internal management

o Donors and stakeholders

o Local regulatory requirements

·Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and data quality through system enhancements

· Support integration and data flow between financial systems and other platforms

· Identify appropriate AI tools to be utilized in conjunction with finance systems

4. Budgeting Systems Support

· Support implementation and ongoing administration of MCC’s budgeting tools

· Align budgeting processes with financial system structures

· Assist in developing templates, workflows, and reporting tools

· Provide user training and ongoing support

5. Training & Capacity Building

· Develop user guides, documentation, and training materials

· Train finance and non-finance staff across MCC

· Support onboarding of new staff into financial systems

· Build long-term system capacity across U.S., Canada, and IP teams

6. Collaboration & Coordination

Work closely with:

o U.S. and Canada Finance leadership and MCC finance networks

o International Program finance staff

o IT teams

· Serve as a key liaison between Finance and IT for finance technology systems

·Promote consistent system use and standards across MCC entities

·Other duties as assigned on a temporary basis.

Supervision: This position does not supervise others.

Travel expectations: Travel up to 35% year internationally Physical activity/demands:

· Constantly remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods of time.

· Occasionally moving about to accomplish tasks or move from one worksite to another.

· Constantly repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.

· Occasionally operating motor vehicles or heavy equipment.

· Constantly assessing the accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of work assigned.

Environment Conditions – during required travel, there is occasionally exposure to: low temperatures, high temperatures, outdoor elements such as precipitation and wind, noisy environments and poor ventilation

Salary Details
