The Team
At Fidelity Fund and Investment Operations Technology (FFIO), we support trade processing, trade settlements, corporate actions, income collection, cash management, cash and position reconciliations, securities lending, and transfer agent control and reconciliation. Our team specifically supports the capture and deliver of financial messages along with money movement to/from internal clients and the custodian banks/counter parties.

The Role
We are looking for a forward-looking self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment. This individual must combine their collaborative and customer focused mindset with solid analytical and development skills to provide creative and complete solutions to complex business and technical problems. We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer who will develop and improve core applications in a Java, Spring and Oracle environment using the agile methodology!

The Expertise and Skills You Bring
  • Degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or Management Information Systems
  • 5+ years of development experience (currently hands on) in Java, Spring MVC / Spring Core / Web Services (SOAP/REST) and configuring web containers.
  • Proven experience in software engineering especially in Oracle SQL & PL/SQL
  • Working experience in Test/Behavior Driven Development (TDD/BDD)
  • DevOps/CICD experience (Jenkins, uDeploy, GIT) is preferred.
  • Experience with IBM MQ and hands on experience in Linux is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Agile software development practices.
  • Provides technology solutions to daily issues and technical evaluation estimates on technology initiatives.
  • Experience with money movement systems in a Mutual Fund/Banking Industry including knowledge of policies and procedures around those functions.
  • Experience with supporting and securing highly critical applications.
  • A self-starter and excellent team member who is independent, collaborative, and can work with minimal supervision.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; Communicates clearly, concisely, and impactfully to influence others.
  • Approaches work with an open mind and sense of creativity by challenging current practices and recommending improvements.
  • Ability to navigate through ambiguous circumstances and demonstrate flexibility and adaptability.
  • Growth mentality with a passion for continuous learning and development.
  • Able to understand the technology and software architecture of an application.
  • Excellent planning, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Demonstrable ability to work in an Agile environment is preferred


The Team

We provide accounting and investment management support services for Fidelity mutual funds and other retail and institutional investment products. These services include calculating and distributing NAVs, distribution rates and yields for a wide variety of investment products; preparing fund financial statements, dividend estimates and tax returns; overseeing delivery of fund trades to custodian banks; processing corporate actions; collecting securities income on behalf of the funds; balancing, reporting, and moving money in support of fund shareholder transactions; and leading fund liquidity. The team builds and maintains shareholder reporting platforms.
