In this role with Quant Research & Investments Technology (QRIT), we are looking for a passionate Principal Software Engineer Developer to build and support world-class products for its business-critical Product Area.

The Team:
As a hands-on developer, your primary role will be building, testing, and engineering web applications using modern technologies like Java and REST APIs. You will also work with our technology team in defining and implementing engineering solutions for our technology products.
You will be expected to quickly gain understanding of all the components of our web applications and will work with the team to deliver outstanding solutions.

Location: Westlake, TX

The Expertise and Skills You Bring:
  • Bachelor's / Master’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science or Engineering
  • Extraordinary problem-solving skills dealing with complex distributed deployments
  • 9+ years of experience in Java, MyBatis, Spring MVC / Spring / Springboot / Web Services (SOAP/REST), and Spring framework (IoC, micro services, data access, etc.).
  • 3+ years of solutioning and coding experience with one or more of the following:
    • AWS Cloud environments (S3, EKS, EC2, SNS, SQS, Lambda, RDS like Oracle and PostgreSQL etc.)
    • Oracle PL/SQL development
  • Champion and advocate of TDD approach, Unit testing using frameworks and tools like Jest and Jasmine
  • Hands on experience in container-based development (Docker), REST API development
  • Fully hands on with application builds and deploys using Continuous Integration/ Deployment (CI/CD) tools like Jenkins, artifactory, GitHub, etc.
  • Proven technical design, development, analysis, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong understanding of Data Structures, design patterns and Critical thinking with critical problem-solving skills
  • Experience in implementing Micro services Architecture & building / deploying highly automated, scalable and maintainable infrastructure.

  • Will actively promote good engineering practices and standards
  • Will help navigate new technologies and cloud-based deployments to help deliver high value to our business
  • Will contribute to continuous process improvement initiatives
  • Will perform code reviews, unit testing, and integration testing using Open Source frameworks.
  • Will proactively lead process and technology improvement initiatives
  • Will stay on top of the latest engineering trends and practices and bring them back to the team when appropriate
  • Will mentor junior team members
