Basic Details:
- Must be able to work shifts between the hours of 8:30 AM and 4:30 PM Monday through Friday, with occasional additional evening and weekend hours possible.
- This position is in person in Bernardine Hall Suite 103 and additional campus locations.
- The student must be enrolled full-time during the academic year.
- Expectations for dress/attire for this position are neat casual or business casual.

Summary of Duties:
GA will play a vital role in advancing the services and initiatives of the Office of Career Development and positively impact the office’s ability to align with and provide support to realizing key pillars of the Alvernia University Strategic Plan.
Major Duties/Responsibilities:
- Provide direct one-on-one and small group career advising and coaching support services to undergraduate, graduate students, and alumni (ex: resume/cover letter review, mock interviews, etc.).
- Assist with career.development@alvernia.edu email account and respond to stakeholder inquiries.
- Facilitate employer outreach as well as posting and advertising internship and job opportunities using Handshake.
- Support Alvernia’s university-wide career fairs and collaborative events.
- Supervise undergraduate student staff members on tasks and assigned projects.
- Participate in office meetings, trainings, and other activities.
- Support marketing and advertising efforts.
- Demonstrate a high degree of professional reliability.
- Adhere to the SOLAR approach to our daily work with students.
- Other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree and current enrollment in an Alvernia graduate program with good academic standing. (Students in counseling, education, human resources, and related fields are encouraged to apply.)
- Commitment to the mission statement, core Franciscan values, and goals of Alvernia University.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and basic social media tools.
- Experience or flexibility to pick up new software (ex: Handshake, Canva, databases, etc.).
