
Head of Product Governance
Job Description:
The Role
Fidelity Asset Management is seeking a highly experienced fund oversight professional for the role of Head of Product Governance. The Product Governance team within Fidelity Asset Management is a tenured team of approximately 20 professionals that focus on the interests of our fund shareholders. Its mission is to evaluate, develop, and lead proposals through board approval into execution and serve as product specialists to enable Fidelity’s investment product strategy. Proposals may include new funds, changes to funds, mergers, and liquidations, and the scope spans all Fidelity mutual funds, ETFs, and other registered funds across all asset classes and distribution channels.
This role requires a combination of deep subject matter expertise, diplomacy, communication, and a strong fiduciary orientation. You independently assess the benefits of any proposal to fund shareholders and must be comfortable expressing views that may be contrary to those of key senior stakeholders. You will interact directly with presidents of the investment divisions, the Head of Investment Product, leaders in other oversight functions, and the Boards of Trustees that oversee the funds.
The role reports to the Head of the Finance and Fund Oversight (FFO) group and is based in Boston.
The Expertise and Skills You Bring
Deep technical knowledge of mutual funds and ETFs and familiarity with Fidelity’s fund offerings. Knowledge of unregistered investment product structures and/or alternative investments is a plus.
Fiduciary orientation, with ability to balance different perspectives while placing fund shareholder interests first.
Ability to collaborate and build relationships at all levels of the organization.
Proven ability to consult and influence senior leaders.
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
Experience taking controversial positions with diplomacy and grace.

The Team
The Asset Management Finance and Fund Oversight (FFO) team partners across Asset Management to drive long-term strategy and uphold fiduciary standards for Fidelity and customers. FFO further supports AM business lines and boards by providing financial expertise and insights, leading strategic initiatives, providing independent oversight of investment offerings, supporting Fund Boards, and more. As the leader of Product Governance, you will lead a talented team and will be accountable for continued growth and development.
The base salary range for this position is $185,000-$400,000 per year.Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate’s relevant experience, and other factors.
Base salary is only part of the total compensation package. Depending on the position and eligibility requirements, the offer package may also include bonus or other variable compensation.
