HUMAN RESOURCES COORDINATOR: Coordinate HR operations supporting Lexitas’ legal services, ideal for organized, discreet professionals who thrive on accuracy. LOCATION: This is a PART-TIME, on-site position based at our Houston office located at 13101 Northwest Freeway.

PAY RATE: $21.50/hr

SUMMARY

Lexitas is seeking a highly organized and people-focused Human Resources Coordinator to support the day-to-day administration of our HR operations. This role is ideal for an HR professional who thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and enjoys being a go-to resource for employees and managers alike. As an HR Coordinator, you will play a critical role in employee onboarding, offboarding, benefits administration, HRIS data integrity, compliance, and employee relations. You’ll partner closely with managers and the HR team to ensure smooth processes, accurate records, and an exceptional employee experience from hire to exit. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Process all new hire and termination paperwork using established workflow processes.
  • Enter and maintain accurate employee data in the HRIS, including promotions, compensation changes, supervisor updates, and status changes.
  • Administer background authorization forms, background checks, and E-Verify for all new hires.
  • Coordinate and conduct new hire onboarding, including distributing and assisting with required forms.
  • Monitor, update, and audit I-9 documentation on a regular basis.
  • Manage the HR email ticket portal, route requests as needed, and resolve assigned HR tickets in a timely manner.
  • Meet with managers and supervisors to assess employee-related needs and provide HR support.
  • Conduct employee and manager training on Dayforce functionality, including time & attendance, PTO, payroll questions, and approval workflows.
  • Review company policies with new hires and assist with periodic Employee Handbook reviews for management.
  • Support benefits administration by answering employee questions, coordinating enrollments, and processing benefit changes and terminations.
  • Assist the Payroll Specialist with payroll-related questions, audits, and error resolution.
  • Manage the termination process, conduct exit interviews, and process unemployment requests.
  • Maintain accurate, organized, and compliant employee files.
  • Prepare ad hoc HR reports, spreadsheets, audits, and tracking documents as requested.
  • Assist with HR team training and cross-training initiatives.
  • Safeguard confidential employee and medical records in compliance with HIPAA and all applicable laws.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment and benefits regulations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support HR operations.

  • Excellent attendance and punctuality.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate’s degree in Human Resources or a related field, or equivalent experience, required.
  • 1–3 years of experience in human resources and office administration.
  • Experience with Dayforce, ADP Workforce Now, and/or Paycor preferred.
  • Knowledge of HR compliance, employment laws, and best practices.
  • Experience supporting a multi-function, multi-location organization preferred.
  • Demonstrated commitment to operational excellence and continuous improvement.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

The Human Resources Coordinator has no supervisory responsibilities.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from internal and external customers whose first language is English.
