Ability to work some evenings or weekends.FLSA status: ExemptEarliest Start Date: As soon as possible.Salary Range: $90,000 - $115,000 annually, commensurate with experienceWork Modality: Open to local or remote work arrangements.Travel Requirements: The Executive Director will be required to visit the University of Texas at El Paso's campus on a quarterly basis. You can work independently and collaboratively, supporting the success of all colleagues and volunteers, and prioritizing UTEP's overall goals above personal achievement.What You'll Do:Reporting to the Assistant Vice President of Strategic Communications and Engagement, you will provide strategic leadership to drive alumni and donor engagement through compelling storytelling, data-driven marketing, and seamless multi-channel campaigns. With a bold vision and a deep understanding of audience segmentation, donor journeys, and mass solicitation strategy, you will develop and execute marketing initiatives that inspire philanthropy and enhance UTEP's institutional brand.As the leader of the Integrated Marketing team, you will oversee Creative Services, Content Strategy & Campaigns, and Marketing Operations, ensuring these functions work cohesively to achieve ambitious fundraising and engagement goals. Your expertise in digital engagement, communications, and marketing analytics will shape the division's approach to acquiring, retaining, and stewarding donors at all levels.By leveraging best practices in content development, segmentation, campaign execution, and marketing technology, you will create innovative solutions to increase donor participation and deepen affinity among alumni, students, and supporters. You will ensure that all marketing efforts align with Institutional Advancement's broader strategy and that success is measured through clear performance metrics.As a manager and culture-builder, you will foster an environment of collaboration, creativity, and accountability, investing in the growth of your team while championing a culture of continuous improvement. You will remove barriers, build trust, and empower your staff to do their best work—because when they succeed, UTEP succeeds.Essential Functions:Ensures all Institutional Advancement communications and marketing adhere to University brand and style guidelines.Promotes organization policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal rules and regulations; advises University personnel regarding the development and implementation of regulatory strategy, potential areas of regulatory concern, and new government/regulatory developments related to advancement processes.Implements directives, operational changes, programs, and policies corresponding to the division or unit.Coordinates activities of divisions or departments that affect operational efficiency and economy.Develops short and long-range plans, conceptual designs, and capital outlay (budget) requirements and documentation for assigned area(s).Develops, implements, and provides training policies, standards, guidelines, and/or security monitoring processes in relation to general control, privacy regulations, and development and operation of the University's infrastructure.Reviews and approves documentation relating to projects and needs specific to assigned area(s).Exchanges information in a clear, concise, and straightforward manner with internal and external partners, stakeholders, alumni, constituents, and friends of the University.Acts as a liaison between department and internal or external partners.Knowledge of all Microsoft Office software and able to learn and use institutional software systems.Complies with all State and University policies.Other duties may be assigned; specific roles may have additional responsibilities due to the nature of the specific role/division/unit.QualificationsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.Required Qualifications:Education: Bachelor's DegreeandExperience: Seven (7) years of annual giving and/or development and/or strategic communications campaign experience and/or training to the statement of duties and responsibilities; or equivalent combination of education and experienceExperience managing CRM Systems, Marketing Automation platforms (MAP) and integrations with associated platforms/toolsExcellent skills in writing, editing, and digital marketingPreferred Qualifications:Advanced degreeA working understanding of a research university environmentExperience using a fundraising database (we use Raiser's Edge/NXT)Knowledge, Skills & Abilities• Proficiency with Oracle's Eloqua platform and/or other email marketing platform, including HTML, deliverability, and email design best practices• Proven success with leading a comprehensive annual giving program using current best practices and achieving and exceeding goals• Strong strategic communication experience including writing, editing, and digital marketing• Proficiency in Microsoft Office software and ability to learn and use institutional software systemsKey Performance Indicators:Understanding how you would measure success in a role is critical to understanding if it's a good fit.
