As our Impact MarketingIntern, you'll spend the 2025-2026 NBA Season helping plan and implement impact marketing initiatives to help grow Trail Blazers brand affinity and deepen connections with marginalized communities that are currently underrepresented within our fanbase.

About the Internship:

  • Internship Duration: August 26, 2025 to April 24, 2026, with the potential for an extension.
  • Part-time Commitment: Expect to work an average of 28 hours per week.
  • Location: Portland, Oregon; this is an on-site role, not remote.
  • Industry: Dive into the dynamic world of Sports & Entertainment, gaining exclusive behind-the-scenes insights into what it truly means to be part of the team behind the team.

As our Impact Marketing Intern, you will:

  • Oversee the Rip City Kids Club, including developing monthly newsletters, maintaining the headquarters, implementing events, communicating with software company, coordinating the fulfillment of prizes and more.
  • Coordinate and lead fan and community-related event tabling in our NBA home market.
  • Coordinate and implement monthly fan-facing events with local small businesses.
  • Assist with planning and execution of month and game-specific Cultural Celebrations, season-long initiatives and more.
  • Assist with the development and delivery of marketing assets using project management software.
  • Assist with adding content and messaging on Impact websites.
  • Assist with omnichannel marketing campaigns for impact marketing initiatives.
  • Research and identify new youth and fan engagement opportunities to achieve department goals.
  • Coordinate storage and tracking inventory giveaways, prizes, and marketing assets.
  • Provide general support to the Impact Marketing department and organization as needed.

  • Are in the process of or have recently obtained a degree in Hospitality, Communications, Business, or a related degree with transferrable skills.
  • Are passionate about social impact, youth initiatives, sustainability, or purpose-driven marketing with a creative mindset.
  • Are comfortable representing the brand at community events.
  • Have experience leading and professionally speaking to varying group sizes in dynamic environments.
  • Have copywriting and verbal communication skills with the ability to craft compelling marketing messages.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work effectively on a team with people of diverse backgrounds and abilities.
  • Have strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment to meet deadlines.
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality and exercise discretion when working with sensitive or proprietary information.
  • Can move around campus and events, bend, reach, and lift materials that are 20-50lbs.
  • Possess a strong understanding of social media platforms (Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, etc.) and trends in digital marketing.
  • Are available to work a flexible schedule, which could include office hours, Trail Blazers home games, and evening/weekend responsibilities.
