Responsibilities
Howmet Fastening Systems (HFS) is seeking a Finance Intern in our Torrance, CA location.
We are seeking highly motivated and energetic students for the 2026 summer intern program at Howmet Fastening Systems. The program consists of 10-12 weeks of structured hands-on training involving plant tours, seminars, networking events, and projects selected to add direct value to the business. At the conclusion of the program, interns will present their projects to plant managers, supervisors, and mentors. An internship at Howmet Fastenings Systems will provide an invaluable experience that you can utilize in any roles, and it’s Howmet Aerospace’s goal to evaluate our interns for potential entry-level openings.
This position will report directly to the Finance Manager with regular coaching from the FP&A and commercial team. The Howmet Aerospace Summer Internship Program will include engaging in impactful projects to assist the company and the student’s professional development.
The Financial Analyst Intern will be introduced to a wide variety of global data sets pulled from multiple sources within the segment. The core project will focus on designing and building a reporting tool that captures inflationary cost increases around the business using automated data retrieve. Outside of the core project, the intern will have the opportunity to learn new skills working alongside other experienced members.
Utilizing excel and power BI to build an automated, easily refreshable report that can be used by management.
Examples of inflationary costs that we would like to capture include raw material, labor, lease/property costs, Trade tariffs, Shipping and transport, subcontracting spend etc.
Other tasks that they will have exposure to include month end close cycles, corporate reporting timetables and other short term, adhoc projects.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Able to work full time, onsite for a minimum of 12 consecutive weeks beginning in May or June 2026
- Able to provide own transportation for position at Torrance, CA.

Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- Must be enrolled in a bachelor’s degree or graduate degree program by the start of employment.
- Minimum completion of Sophomore level coursework from an accredited institution.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Teams, etc.). Must be proficient working in a Microsoft systems environment. Excel is required.
- Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior Internship work experience.
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Economics or Mathematics from an accredited institution.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent analytical skills
The salary for this position is $25 per hour.
