IT Project Lead

The Role
We are seeking an IT Project Manager to support newly formed Alternate Investment products within the FFIO (Fidelity Fund and Investment Operations) Technology team. This role involves managing a diverse portfolio of projects, assisting development teams in adopting new technologies, and planning ongoing maintenance and enhancements for existing systems and frameworks. Key responsibilities will include:
Plan, coordinate, and report on project status across all lifecycle stages, with emphasis on design and development.
Lead project planning strategies, including estimation, budgeting, and milestone scheduling.
Maintain detailed status reporting, track issues, manage risks, and enforce change control processes.
Monitor delivery team activities to ensure alignment with objectives and timely execution of deliverables.
Drive continuous improvement and operational efficiencies within the program ecosystem.
Facilitate clear communication and presentations across all levels of management.
Mentor and inspire team members to foster collaboration and high performance.
The Skills You Bring
10+ years of progressive IT experience, including a minimum of 5 years as a Technical Project Manager delivering software solutions.
Proven experience in asset management or similar domains with strong business context understanding.
Expertise in project management methodologies, especially agile and rapid development environments.
Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams delivering large-scale technology initiatives.
Strong knowledge of SDLC and best practices across all phases, particularly design and development.
Experience in estimation, budgeting, strategic planning, scheduling, and risk/issue management.
Leadership and mentorship skills with ability to drive alignment across multiple teams and units.
Ability to influence senior stakeholders and champion program management frameworks.
Excellent communication skills for diverse audiences, both written and verbal.
Collaborative mindset with experience working across business units in large organizations.
Customer-focused approach, promoting continuous improvement and efficiency.
Familiarity with vendor management, product upgrades, and licensing (preferred but not required).
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience).
The Team
We in the FFIO (Fidelity Fund and Investment Operations) Technology team/organization, handle applications that provide accounting and investment management support to Fidelity businesses. One of the newly formed products for Alternate Investment within the FFIO business unit requires a full stack engineering leader to develop new capabilities or enhance existing capabilities.
