The Role

As an IT Project Manager you are aligned to product development teams and partner with product leadership to manage the delivery of team objectives and deliver the vision of the product. You will coordinate efforts across multiple teams to deliver seamless solutions and are responsible for improving the overall effectiveness of delivery for the team. The IT Project Manager will advise and coach others on Delivery methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, Lean, etc.) while simultaneously coordinating impediment, risks, and interdependence across product areas.

Additionally, you are accountable for:

  • Release management.
  • Coordinate multi-team delivery plans, balancing short- and long-term goals with quarterly commitments.
  • Monitor progress, minimize context switching, and ensure backlog refinement for continuous delivery.
  • Implement and refine delivery processes using empirical data and historic trends to improve predictability and efficiency.
  • Support engineering excellence by enforcing quality standards and managing tech debt, incidents, and change processes.
  • Build strong delivery partner relationships and coordinate with business leaders for successful releases and client engagement.
This opportunity is for an IT Project Manager to support two squads within the IWMS Digital Platform domain area.

Skills

  • Bachelors or equivalent with 8+ years of experience or Masters with 6+ years of experience
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) credential (or, similar Scrum credential) with Senior-level Scrum Master or Project Manager experience operating as a leader who serves team(s) and can actively scale across adjacent teams in a scrum framework.
  • Acceptance Criteria - Defines clear, specific, and measurable criteria for each work item at the appropriate level of the work hierarchy (Initiative, Sub-Initiative, Epic, and Story), ensuring that each work item meets the requirements, standards, and expectations before being considered done.
  • Advising - Offers recommendations on the best course of action to take and advises to support decision making that leads to delivery of outcomes.
  • Conflict Resolution - Approaches conflict with a clear strategy and plan for resolution. Strives to achieve the best possible solution for all. Helps others resolve complex or sensitive disagreements and conflicts.
  • IT Acumen - Keeps abreast with trends, developments, and technologies within the field of Information Technology, locally and internationally. Understands the impact of these on the organization. Incorporates relevant trends to ensure organization's relevancy and competitiveness.
  • Cross Functional Collaboration - Collaborates with team members from different teams or functions to deliver a product vision or project.
  • Facilitating - Manages and generates group discussions or meetings. Encourages people to take part and work together more effectively. Helps the group understand or reach their common goal.
  • Influencing Others - Gains support and commitment from others by being respectful and using tact to achieve outcomes. Persuades and impacts the thoughts and actions of others. Gains support for ideas, proposals, projects, and solutions.
  • Capacity Planning - Considers resource trends, facts, and changing demands to make predictions regarding future capacity needs.
  • Planning and Delivery Methodologies - Understands the various agile and project frameworks and methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum, Lean, Six Sigma, Waterfall, Kanban, etc.) and applies the appropriate framework/methodology for the situation.
  • Problem Solving - Leverages knowledge, previous experience, and skills to identify the crux of an issue and creates a workable solution to resolve problems. Understands verbal or numerical information and how to make reasoned decisions based on this analysis.
  • Release Planning and Forecasting - Defines and estimates work in scope for release based on target outcomes, prioritizes deliverables, aligns capacity with plan work, monitors progress against estimates, manages scope adjustments based on new insights, and ensures successful release of the product increment.
  • Change Management - Understands different change models and how to put in place successful organizational, system, or employee change programs. Ensures limited disruptions to the team by making clear changes.
  • Continuous Improvement - Work towards continuously improving products, services, or processes. Plans and implements change. Checks data to analyze the results of the change and whether it made a difference. Implements it on a wider scale if effective.
  • Data Gathering and Reporting- Uses varied tools, techniques, and processes for gathering and reporting data. Knows which data to collect and what would be useful to report on.
  • Impediment Removal and Management - Identify, prioritize, and resolve obstacles that hinder team progress, ensuring smooth workflow and timely delivery.
  • Risk Management - Identifies, forecasts, and evaluates risks and navigates a way to avoid or limit their impact.
  • Dependency Management - Identifies, tracks, and resolves dependencies between teams, product development efforts, projects, or programs to ensure efficient execution and timely delivery of target outcomes without bottlenecks or delays.

The Team

You will support two cross-functional squads, engaging with all team members and the Product Owners to reinforce and embed an agile approach and principles into the day-to-day work. By demonstrating and promoting Fidelity and agile leadership behaviors, you will evolve and sustain an innovative agile culture. You will support teams that are responsible for enhancing the overall advisor experience, enable investors to meet their financial goals by providing them and their financial institutions a suite of modern and intuitive financial account information tools and provide support across the Platform domain for other core capabilities across the browser-based Wealthscape application.
