Position Summary
The IT Security Analyst will be responsible for the security of the organization's information systems. Reporting to the Systems Manager, the analyst will serve as a point of contact for security-related issues and will be responsible for implementing and maintaining security measures, monitoring security breaches, and responding to security incidents. The successful candidate will work closely with IT and other departments to ensure the security of the organization's information systems.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Implement and maintain security measures to protect the organization's information systems.
- Monitor security breaches and respond to security incidents.
- Conduct security assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities.
- Develop and implement security policies and procedures.
- Provide security training and awareness to employees.
- Assist with the IT vulnerability management program.
- Make recommendations to enhance the IT Security Program and protect USI IT systems.
- Collaborate with users to discuss data access needs.
- Develop scripts, tools, and procedures to automate scans, assessments, and other monitoring
 activities.
- Verify the security of third-party vendors and collaborate with them to meet security
 requirements.
- Stay up to date with the latest security threats and trends.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge and Skills
- Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
- 2 years minimum experience in information security field.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Knowledge of security standards and frameworks such as NIST.
- Experience with security technologies such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, authentication, and vulnerability scanners.
- Understanding of network security and cryptography.
Regular Work Hours/Travel Requirements
- Standard office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- Frequent irregular or extended hours, including evenings and weekends, may be necessary to complete departmental deadlines or during special programs and events.
- Occasional travel may be required.
