Physical Requirements

The physical requirements of this position include: Occasional lifting, pushing, and/or pulling objects up to 25lbs; occasionally standing or walking with objects 10-25lbs; regularly sitting or standing at a computer workstation for extended periods of time with regular repetitive motions (such as typing); utilizing mouse, keyboard, and phone for portions of the day. Ability to travel to various locations on and off-campus for meetings, projects, incidents, etc.



Shift

Primarily days (i.e. Monday – Friday, 8a-5p, 40+ hours per week) Please be aware that as an exempt position, job duties may occasionally require additional time in the evenings, nights, holidays and/or weekends to accomplish work goals in excess of 40hours per week.



Job Summary

The University of Kentucky (UK) seeks a Director of Project Management to serve as the leader of the Project Management team in the Networking and Infrastructure (NI) division within Information Technology Services (ITS). The Director of Project Management is responsible for establishing and maintaining a sound strategy for the successful management of network infrastructure projects throughout their entire project life cycle. The director ensures the proper direction, coordination, implementation, control, and completion of projects while remaining aligned with the strategy, commitments, and goals of the university. The incumbent will report directly to the ACIO for NI and be a member of the NI leadership team.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities

Experience with network protocols and network operating systems, switching and routing, enterprise wireless, AAA, load balancers.

Experience with supporting large enterprise networks and managing/supervising network engineers. PMP preferred
