This role will play a key part of developing industry standard and best-practice APIs to integrate with our core workflow engine.

As part of the Advanced Process Solutions division within Fidelity Investments, you will join a Scrum team of 10-12 very hardworking individuals. This team is tasked with modernizing Fidelity’s workflow suite of tools, with a strong focus on the back-end.

Our aim is to combine the best of working offsite with coming together in person. For most teams this means a consistent balance of working from home and office that supports the needs of your role, experience level, and working style.
Fidelity’s hybrid working model blends the best of both onsite and offsite work experiences. Most roles listed as Hybrid will require associates to work onsite all business days of every other week in a Fidelity office.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science / similar technical field and/or equivalent experience
- 3-5 years development experience; Java
- Experience with Restful APIs
- Experience with Git, Java, Jenkins, Docker, Shell Scripts
- Excellent communication skills and strong problem resolution skills
- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment across locations
- Familiarity with SOA principles, WSDL, XML schemas, SOAP envelopes
- Experience handling:
- XML parsing and transformation
- XSD validation
- SOAP client libraries (e.g., Apache CXF, JAX?WS)
- Ability to abstract legacy systems behind cleaner REST endpoints
- 2+ years with AWS and other cloud-based development methodologies / best-practices
- Accountable for consistent delivery of functional software – sprint to sprint, release to release
- Excellence in software development practices and procedures
- Participates in application level architecture
- Develops original and creative technical solutions to ongoing development efforts
- Responsible for QA readiness of software work (end-to-end tests, unit tests, automation)
- Responsible for supporting implementation of moderate-scope projects or major initiatives
- Works on sophisticated assignments and often multiple phases of a project
- Assists in developing departmental technical policies and procedures
- May assist in establishing project plans for projects of moderate scope
