
Lab Technician "“ Welding and Industrial Mechanics
North Idaho College is seeking a detail-oriented and safety-minded Lab Technician for Welding & Industrial Mechanics to support hands-on learning in our state-of-the-art labs. In this role, you'll work closely with faculty to keep labs running smoothly - organizing and setting up equipment, assisting with demonstrations, and ensuring students have the tools and supplies they need to practice and master their skills. You'll also guide students in the safe use of shop equipment, reinforce proper techniques, and help them build confidence in their craft.
Beyond supporting instruction, you'll manage the behind-the-scenes logistics that keep the labs functional and efficient. This includes overseeing inventory, maintaining and repairing equipment, coordinating vendor relationships, and ensuring compliance with safety standards.
We're looking for someone with excellent communication skills and a commitment to safety. Proficiency with basic computer applications, an eye for detail, and the ability to interpret manuals and apply mathematical skills will serve you well in this role.

Minimum Qualifications
"¢ A minimum of four (4) years of recent welding and/or fabrication experience related to the needs of the position OR
"¢ Associate's degree in a related post-secondary or professional-technical education program and two (2) years of recent welding and/or fabrication experience related to the needs of the position
Required License and/or Certifications:
"¢ Valid driver's license required.
"¢ Forklift certification must be obtained within one month of hire.
Starting pay range: $20.79 - $23.91

Work Schedule: 70% full time (Aug-May)
