Astound is currently searching for a LAN Administrator in our Wilkes-Barre, PA office.

Job Summary

The LAN Administrator plays a key role in supporting internal teams and remote employees by delivering timely, effective technical support. Daily responsibilities include monitoring and resolving ServiceDesk tickets, troubleshooting hardware, software, and connectivity issues, and facilitating smooth transitions for employees moving between in-office and remote work environments. This role also includes support for company-approved software applications and assisting with software upgrades and installations. The successful candidate will help maintain accurate equipment inventories, coordinate hardware deployments, and track assets throughout their lifecycle.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Set up desktops and other related hardware/peripherals. Perform moves/additions/changes as required.
• Coordinate equipment swaps and upgrades with in-house and remote employees.
• Facilitate employee moves from in-office to remote and vice versa.
• Assist existing employees and new hires with issues regarding computer equipment, connectivity and accessibility of hardware and software programs.
• Assist with hardware and software upgrades.
• Hardware repairs and coordinate warranty repairs with manufacturers.
• Diagnose/repair problems with desktop computers, laptops, printers, copiers, and other peripherals.
• Assist with the asset tracking system for all equipment.
• Preventative maintenance on desktops. Removing collected dust from fans and cleaning.
• Other duties/responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements/Qualifications:

Education:

• A high school diploma or GED is required.
• An associate’s degree and 2+ years of relevant experience preferred.

Experience:

• Minimum of 1 year of experience working with computer hardware/software/peripherals or equivalent experience is required.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience working with Microsoft and Windows operating systems or equivalent experience is required.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience managing and troubleshooting network infrastructure, workstation management, imaging, inventory control, and remote monitoring or equivalent experience is required.
• Superior working knowledge of Microsoft operating systems and applications, MCSE or equivalent experience required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Excellent communication/interpersonal skills required.
• Strong analytical ability to diagnose/repair computer/network problems.
• Strong understanding of Ethernet switched environments, TCP/IP, DHCP, terminal emulation, client/server and internet concepts.
• Highly organized, detail oriented and excellent time management required.
• The ability to lift up to 50 lbs., climb ladders, and work in confined spaces required.
• The ability to work independently, adapt to changing priorities, and maintain a professional and helpful demeanor at all times required.

The base salary range in Pennsylvania for this position is $65,000 - $80,000 (annually), plus opportunities for bonus, benefits and commission, if applicable. The base pay range represents the low and high end of the hiring range for this job. Actual pay will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to relevant skills, experience, and capabilities. It is specific to Pennsylvania and may not be applicable to other locations.
