The Role

You will serve as the Quality Engineering Lead across four engineering squads supporting Fidelity Institutional portfolio construction experience. This role spans the full stack—from an Angular front-end to Java-based backend services—and requires deep technical quality engineering expertise, strong leadership, and a passion for building reliable, scalable, and automated testing solutions.

You will define and uphold quality standards across squads, mentor engineers on best practices, and ensure consistent, automated, and comprehensive test coverage. This role is hands-on and influential, driving the adoption of modern automation frameworks, intelligent testing strategies, and CI/CD-integrated quality practices.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead quality engineering strategy and execution across four squads building Angular + Java applications.
  • Create robust automated frameworks, tools, and tests using Cypress.io, Cucumber, and Karate.
  • Partner closely with Software Engineers, SDETs, and Product Managers to understand features, usage patterns, and risk areas.
  • Ensure full requirements ? test cases ? executions traceability using Jira/Xray.
  • Identify, document, and close gaps in test coverage, ensuring high confidence releases.
  • Develop and maintain regression suites aligned with real-world customer scenarios.
  • Integrate automated tests into Jenkins CI/CD pipelines to enforce continuous quality.
  • Use GitHub and GitHub Copilot to streamline development and testing workflows.
  • Champion quality-centric methodologies and scalable automation practices across all teams.
  • Mentor engineers in automation, tooling, test strategies, and quality mindset.
  • Drive continuous improvement in reliability, performance, and release readiness.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

  • Strong experience as a QA Lead on medium-to-large engineering programs or multiple squads.
  • Hands-on expertise with:
  • Cypress.io, Karate, Cucumber
  • Automated testing for Angular + Java full-stack applications
  • Deep understanding of test architecture, automation strategy, and modern QA practices.
  • Solid finance domain knowledge, ideally supporting portfolio construction or similar domains.
  • Strong experience with Jira/Xray for test management and full traceability.
  • Ability to define detailed test plans, test strategies, and measurable quality metrics.
  • Experience building automated frameworks for Web UIs and REST APIs.
  • Proficiency integrating tests into Jenkins pipelines.
  • Strong Git/GitHub skills; familiarity with GitHub Copilot for productivity.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills with the ability to influence across squads.
Most roles at Fidelity are Hybrid, requiring associates to work onsite every other week (all business days, M-F) in a Fidelity office. This does not apply to Remote or fully Onsite roles.
