
Leading Staff Clinician
Under the direction of the Program Director, the lead staff clinician at the Discovery Day Treatment Program is part of a multi-disciplinary team which provides quality clinical care to consumers with serious and persistent mental illnesses and/or who are suffering serious disturbances in life functioning due to a psychiatric problem. This position will be responsible, along with program leadership, for the clinical support and development of the Discovery staff. This position will work with the program director on developing trainings, providing group and individual supervision, and reviewing the clinical care clients. This position will provide clinical intake, assessment, risk/safety planning and treatment planning for clients. Leads development of comprehensive recovery-based services to adults with serious mental illness.
The program philosophy is that staff clinicians will help consumers by educating them about their symptoms and aid them in developing better coping skills through the use of group therapy in a structured, scheduled day and by the development of a goal oriented treatment plan. Treatment is conducted in a setting, which is safe, respectful and empathic to consumer needs.
- Works with program director develops and conducts clinical trainings for staff at all levels
- Facilitates regular group supervision for clinical staff
- Works with program leadership, oversees clinical processes and protocols that include intakes, assessment and clinical interventions.
- Supports clinical staff with individual supervision
- Leads or co-leads a schedule of treatment groups in the program as assigned by the Program Director.
- Groups are organized and well thought out as evidenced by consumer satisfaction responses taken during the group’s schedule and by supervisory feedback.
- Works as the Case Coordinator/Clinician of Record for program clients as assigned by the Program Director.
Will clinically supervise staff and make take on administrative duties per the Program Director
Required Skills
Education:
- Master’s Degree in Social Work, Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Psychology or related field required
- Independent license, LICSW, LMHC or licensed Psychologist is required
Experience:
- Prior experience working with adults with mental illness.
- Prior experience with co-leading or leading treatments groups.
