Description

The Department of Classics at Princeton University may have occasional openings for Lecturers to teach either an undergraduate course or precepts (sections) for undergraduate courses during the 2026-2027 academic year and accepts applications in advance in the event the occasion arises where such lecturers are needed. These courses may focus on Greek or Latin literature and culture, Greek or Roman history, or the Latin language. Such positions would require teaching courses and/or leading discussions, attending course lectures, being available for meetings with the course instructor(s), holding regular on-campus office hours, and grading student exams and papers. Appointment duty time is subject to enrollments, and any available position may be for the Fall 2026 and/or Spring 2027 semesters, with the potential for renewal depending on departmental need.


Qualifications

Essential Qualifications: 1) Advanced degree in Classics or related field required, PhD preferred, and 2) Prior teaching experience at the college or university level.
