Lecturer - Developmental MathUTEP is seeking a full-time Lecturer in Developmental Mathematics to join our dedicated team starting Fall 2025. The ideal candidate is passionate about inclusive pedagogy and student-centered learning and will play a vital role in helping first-year students transition successfully into college-level mathematics.Key Responsibilities:• Deliver engaging instruction in developmental math courses using ALEKS and other instructional technologies.• Design and assess student learning experiences that accommodate a wide range of math proficiencies.• Provide individualized support through one-on-one tutoring, mentoring, and academic coaching.• Promote critical thinking, self-awareness, and interpersonal skills in the classroom.• Apply innovative and research-based pedagogical strategies to improve student outcomes.• Incorporate multicultural perspectives into course content and create an inclusive, respectful learning environment.• Collaborate with departmental colleagues to continuously improve curricula and student support initiatives.• Collaborate effectively with faculty, staff, and support programs to foster a cohesive learning environment grounded in teamwork and shared student success goals.• Demonstrate a positive, student-centered outlook and contribute to a supportive, collegial department culture.• Maintain availability to teach and meet with students during standard business hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM.Qualifications:• Experience teaching developmental or introductory-level college mathematics.• Familiarity with learning platforms, such as ALEKS.• Demonstrated commitment to student success and equitable access to education.• Strong communication, interpersonal, and mentoring skills.Job Requirements:A Master's degree or higher is required in Mathematics, Science, or Engineering, along with two years of college teaching or other relevant experience. ESE lecturers are highly motivated instructors with superior interpersonal skills, oral and written communication skills, excellent presentation skills, and experience successfully integrating technology into curriculum and/or pedagogy. Candidates are highly motivated and dedicated to student success. The candidate must have a proven track record of working in a collaborative team environment. Additionally, the ideal candidate has demonstrated the ability to motivate students at the college level and develop a positive mentoring relationship with diverse student populations.Additional Information:This is a non-tenure track position with a salary range from $45,000 to $50,000 commensurate with experience and qualifications. Additionally, lecturers have the option of working during the summer.
