Job Summary
The Dr. Bing Zhang Department of Statistics in the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Kentucky in Lexington, Kentucky invites applications for a full-time Lecturer position to begin August 1, 2027. The selected candidate will be appointed to a 9-month, non-tenure eligible faculty position for an initial two-year period that has the potential for renewal and for promotion to Senior Lecturer after five years. Teaching duties will be at the undergraduate level. In addition, the successful candidate will be expected to mentor undergraduate students as needed and perform routine departmental service. We seek applicants who intend to establish a long-term teaching career within the Department. Evidence of teaching excellence is valued as well as the administrative, organizational, and mentoring skills required to teach and coordinate large classes.
The anticipated Distribution of Effort will be 90% teaching and 10% departmental service.
A Ph.D. degree in statistics or a closely related field by the time of the appointment is required.
