Library Assistant II- PTUIW MissionPosition SummaryThe Library Assistant II (LAII)-Circulation Part-Time supports the UIW Libraries by performing a range of duties related to the efficient operation of the Mabee Library's circulation and public service functions, to include opening/closing the library. Position also assists with student worker training and the implementation of innovative access services processes. The Library Assistant II (LAII)-Circulation Part-Time reports to the Circulation Manager.This position will primarily work evenings and weekends at the main UIW Library.Essential FunctionsJob DutiesKnowledge Skills and Abilities• Effective verbal and written communication skills.• Working knowledge of online integrated services platforms used in libraries and the staff-side functions to support Circulation tasks.• Strong organizational skills and a strong commitment to customer service.• Demonstrated excellence in customer service in a public service/ customer service capacity.• Ability to effectively problem-solve routine circulation challenges.• Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures.• Employee shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the University, the Conference, and the NCAA.Required Education60 college hours.Required Work Experience• Minimum of two (2) years of experience working in libraries or related environment (such as a bookstore) with direct responsibilities for circulation tasks.• At least one (1) year of supervisory experience in a library or related environment.Preferred Qualifications• Bachelor's Degree.• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in Access Services or Circulation.• Experience with ALMA or another integrated library system.Required Certifications, Licenses or RegistrationsNone specified.Work Hours20 hours per week. Non-summer hours are Friday and Saturday 2:30pm to 6:30pm, Sunday and Monday 5pm to 11pm. Summer hours will slightly vary, as Library closes at 8pm.
