Overview:

THIS WORK MATTERS!

This is a limited-duration Housing Coordinator position. A Limited Duration can last up to two (2) years, but can end at any time. This is also a Knowledge, Skills, Ability (KSA) Spanish position. Must be fluent in Spanish (speak, read, and write). Language testing is required. The Housing Coordinator will support coordination and partnership management, as well as provide direct client support and navigation for newcomer households. It will also provide housing subject matter expertise and support department-wide housing needs.

As theLD Housing Coordinator -KSA Spanish, other duties will include:

  • Act as a subject-matter expert on newcomer and immigrant families experiencing homelessness and supportive housing interventions
  • Develop and maintain Rapid Rehousing program policies and procedures to ensure program compliance
  • Develop workflow, program evaluation criteria, and resources as needed to support families in a trauma-informed manner while using a quality improvement lens
  • Coordinate with direct service staff to oversee the completion of program activities
  • Provide ongoing evaluation, including data entry and data quality workflows using a continuous quality improvement lens
  • Act as a liaison between multiple partners, providers, and organizations to provide up to date communication and reports
  • Coordinate funding for Supportive Housing Services in DCHS. This includes tracking program spending, coordinating quarterly reporting, helping DCHS staff with technical help, and tracking results.
  • Provide culturally-responsive services to primarily Spanish-speaking newcomer families, ensuring equitable and linguistically-appropriate service delivery
  • Provide interpretation and translation services (verbal and written) in English and Spanish to ensure families understand services and options available to them
  • Act as a liaison between the Homeless Services Dept. DCHS, and community-based providers, ensuring effective communication in English and Spanish Language and updates to relevant parties
  • Provide project management on interagency or interdivisional projects, including the preparation of grant documentation and reporting.
  • Develop informational resources and materials in English and Spanish language as needed; arrange and publicize meetings; coordinate resource fairs; schedule speakers; conduct workshops and trainings internally and/or to community groups
  • Respond to inquiries from internal and external parties regarding program functions and processes
  • Exhibit cultural competence when speaking and interacting with native speakers and languages

Minimum Qualifications/Transferable Skills*:

Education/Training:

  • Bachelor Degree from an accredited college or university in the field of study, public administration, social work, business administration, or related field. (Equivalent to 5-8 years of qualifying training and/or experience)
  • Two (2) to Three (3) years working with the unhoused and immigrant community

  • Must pass a criminal background check
  • Valid state-issued drive
