Job Description:
The Team
This position as Linux Systems-Engineer sits in Distributed Compute Operations team and it will be responsible to support critical function i.e. Server Engineering & Operations in Enterprise Infrastructure & Operations (EI&O) including but not limited to designing, implementing, and managing server infrastructure to ensure performance, security, and reliability for Fidelity applications and data. A server engineer's responsibilities include installing and configuring servers, monitoring performance, managing security updates, and troubleshooting issues across different operating systems and environments. In this role, you will work with technology folks across the company, your peers on other DCS teams and representing Distributed Compute and Storage (DCS) on Incident bridges. This role will also require working with teams out of our India offices on a day-to-day basis.
As a member of this Engineering team, you will continue to evaluate and find opportunities to automate, promote a culture where standards and process are important and critical to how we approach our work. You will be responsible for managing Linux, AIX, and Windows, Virtualization Technology, various Hardware platforms, security compliance patching and responsible for overall stability of the Production environment.
The Expertise You Have
7+ years’ experience in IT across a broad range of technologies, with specific experience working with server and storage infrastructure technologies
Knowledge on Linux, primarily Redhat Linux, Ubuntu, & Oracle (OEL)
Virtualization experience (VMware, OLVM, and OpenStack)
Disk storage management & Protocols (ISCSI & FiberChannel)
PURE, Infinidat, and IBM
On-call coverage experience
Troubleshooting skills on OS, hardware and storage related issues
Ability to develop automation and or scripts to perform repeatable actions - Shell Scripting, Python PowerShell & Ansible,
experience driving Incident calls and working with Enterprise level customers and app teams
Experience with Veritas/ InfoScale products like Storage Foundation/ /Veritas Cluster Server is a plus
Windows, VMWare and OLVM(Oracle Logical Volume Manager) experience is a huge plus
Experience with Storage subsystems and SAN/NAS/CAS Infrastructure is a huge plus

Experience in working with Server Operations & Infrastructure team
Expert in driving the crisis / high severity incident calls
Expert in Agile methodology & IT Service Management
Good understanding of infrastructure tech stack (Linux, AIX, Windows, VMWare, OpenStack, HP, Dell & AIX server hardware). Experience in Oracle Linux Virtualization Manager (OLVM) is a huge plus
Identify gaps and process improvements to enhance the stability of the environment
Collaborating with various vendors (Redhat, HP, Dell, IBM AIX etc.) on RCA’s and implementing the solution
Seek out & share new ideas, approaches & industry insights towards automation & stability in infrastructure domain, self-service & self-healing
Communicate, Collaborate and build relationships with partners and key stakeholders We strive to be fastest to deliver and easiest to consume technology providers.

Job responsibilities include:
You will engage in multiple Unix and Linux operating system administration tasks, including conducting complex operational support
Responsible for Incident, change, release & problem management process
Drive and contribute on Incident bridges to mitigate and resolve the issue; provide updates to management as required
Drive project-based work as needed (Large scall engineering projects, Customer requests, Server Migrations, Patching & Compliance etc)
Drive issues on OS, Hardware and Hypervisors (Openstack, VMWare, OLVM)
Identify & prioritize opportunities for automation, improving stability across the infrastructure components in partnership with DCS Agile team leaders as well as key stakeholders
Solid Understanding of ITSM processes and Best Practice - experience performing role under ITSM and other company policies
