POSITION SUMMARY The Logistic Technician I works independently to support patient care through the receipt, storage, distribution, inventory management and procurement of medical surgical supplies and patient care equipment. This position performs physical inventory of supply carts, performs data entry of supply orders, receives supplies, replenishes and maintains stock par levels and responds to individual requests. The Logistic Technician physically exchanges supply carts, collects and assists with clean linen. This position performs periodic physical inventories as directed and maintains a clean and safe workplace. The Logistics Technician I utilizes StatStock to maintain par levels of the hospital's emergency medical carts. Additionally, this position sorts and stages mail within the mailroom for outbound pickup. This position may also assist the Equipment Technician with collection and cleaning of patient care equipment on an as needed basis. This position completes all other duties as assigned. This position supports organizational goals by providing quality customer service, participating in performance improvement efforts and demonstrating a commitment to teamwork and cooperation. QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION: High School Diploma or equivalent required. LICENSE/CERTIFICATION: EXPERIENCE: A minimum of one-year experience with Supply Chain or a healthcare related field is preferred. Hospital storeroom and data entry experience preferred. Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English is required. PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS Demonstrates the ability to perform the department specific competencies as listed on the Assessment and Evaluation Tool. Exhibits the core behavioral competencies as listed on the Assessment and Evaluation Tool. Logistics Technician Page 2 WORK ENVIRONMENT Potential for exposure to the hazards and risk of the hospital environment, including exposure to infectious disease, hazardous substances, and potential injury. This position requires extensive walking, standing, and lifting. Demonstrates the ability to push and pull weights in excess of 90 pounds, with assistance. Lifting, pushing and pulling weights 30 to 90lbs or greater with assistance a majority of the time also required. Essential functions of this position are listed on the department specific Assessment and Evaluation Tool. REPORTING RELATIONSHIP This position reports to department leadership.
